I think this is gret news. I love Sharrock's drumming and he made a lot of difference on the last leg of Noel's tour. And Gem might not be the best guitarist around, but his rendition of Masterplan and the acoustic version of DLBIA were perfect.
I always wished Noel would pick up someone like Strangeboy though. I mean, this guy can create some amazing solos. But then again, better Gem than Tim Smith.

confirmed, although it's more like Gem's dad. Grey hair and all. I always wished Noel would pick up someone like Strangeboy though. I mean, this guy can create some amazing solos. But then again, better Gem than Tim Smith. I really think the guy doesn't to tour and prefer to produce. He's had millions of opportunity and Noel hired all his friends, but him. I guess he likes being in the shadows. But i agree, his solos are amazing.

Gem is great addition as is Sharrock. But will miss Tim Smith. Despite comments here he was rather good.

Noel has always been a pro Gem guy. Don't think I've ever heard him speak a bad word about him. Solid dude all around it seems.

Gem and Chris are like the kids from a divorced marriage. Noel's got them for the summer holidays.

Nice one, good to see Gem back in full swing for the first time since BDI got knocked on the head. On a side note - it is quite telling about Gem that he managed to maintain good relations with both Gallaghers, which cannot be said for some other Oasis members. He always seemed the kind of guy you couldn't possibly hate. My mate lived with a girl at uni (this is only a few years ago btw) who met Gem in a bar in Leeds. Apparently he wouldn't leave her alone and got her number, tried to arrange a meet-up and everything. Not sure what actually came of it in the end. Bare in mind this was 2014, and the girl at the time was 19 But yeh, Gem does seem sound enough...

Is Gem in that photo? Am I the only person who can't see that fellow to the right of Noel as Gem?

Is Gem in that photo? Am I the only person who can't see that fellow to the right of Noel as Gem? It's him but you have to zoom to see it clearly. He's changed the way he stands and has aged a lot since BDI break up, probably why you dont recognize him. Maybe he didnt completely recover from his accident as well... I guess BDI didn't really work for those guys...

Gem always reminds me of Chris Shiflett by Foo Fighters.
Gem would have been a great guitarist for Liam. Strangeboy did play the keyboard with Mike Rowe on the Be Here Now tour in 1998 (maybe in 1997 too, don't think you can see him at G-Mex, but I'm not sure)

Great news in my opinion. Sharrock is a brilliant drummer and I always thought Gem and Noel really complimented each other in a live setting. The semi acoustic gigs they did/do together are exceptional, just don't let the bloke anywhere near a pen and paper for fuck sake.

If Gem is indeed back, good for him and good for Noel He played noel's solos perfectly while adding his own style. Tim Smith was just too generic +1 That's so true! The (semi)-acoustic tour Noel and Gem did back in 2006 was absolutely amazing. Gem's solos are full of emotions. I think Tim Smith should concentrate on acting again (as a Owen Wilson look-alike) :-)

Fuckinell. Time's not been kind. He's probably just not dying his hair anymore. Most likely, though it's possible he's just gone grey pretty quickly. It's easy to forget he's older than Noel. Still cool as fuck and the perfect guitarist for Noel.
