Gem seems like a really sound guy and a very good guitarist, but I get what Matt is saying. It would be good to see Noel (and Liam) hang around with more musicians who don't have any connections to Oasis - maybe he'd pick up some fresh ideas, be inspired by something new/different or just look at the world is a slightly new manner you know? Last time I saw him playing was when he did the tribute for Caroline O'Hearn and he had Gem, Sharrock and Mike Rowe on the keys, FFS that's 75% of Oasis. Saying that, I really hope Bonehead is involved on Liam's stuff! I'm giving Sharrock a free pass, he's brilliant. Arguably the best Oasis ever had.

Gem is great too actually, I really like his style, but like I say it would be good for Noel to do stuff with different folk I think.

About half an hour ago I followed the wiki link linked in the NME "article" and then it listed both Tim Smith and Gem as "part time". But when I looked again a few minutes later it was back to Smith being former and Gem current.

Let's be honest Tim wasn't very cool. I actually thought he improved on the CY tour from the first album tour.

NME making a story out of a Wikipedia edit. I guess we've seen it all now.

NME making a story out of a Wikipedia edit. I guess we've seen it all now. They probably edit it themselves in order to justify printing their made up articles. Fake news in action.

Ah, once again that inept clown Noel, he keeps hiring all those terrible musicians like Jeremy, Tim, etc! Some of you bums really think Noel is sitting around randomly choosing crap band mates?! Call me crazy, I give him more credit than that. Should he let guys stretch more? By all means, but poor musicians? No.

Haha, so with Gem & Chris he's got half of beady eye (or half of Oasis 2008 as you like).

Aside from 10-15 live4ever forum members at the front, *no-one* in the crowd knows or cares who noel's guitarist is...

Why the hell would anyone moan that Gem is Noel's new guitarist?

Absolutely fucking not! Gem is a legend. You're right. I played his heavy stereo album once in 1998 and literally never again. Rock n Roll!

Why the hell would anyone moan that Gem is Noel's new guitarist? I don't really care but it's always nice to see and learn of new people or influences. We already know Gem and all his talents.
