I'm hoping it sounds like I Don't Feel Like Dancing by the Scissor Sisters...

I've been looking through some Raconteurs stuff and found this video of a Liam lookalike, with Brendan Benson singing. Something like this would do: Hope it's better than this!

There were quite a lot of rumours ages ago that Liam was working with him. I can't remember where they came from. Tbh I'd forgotten how awesome The Raconteurs were until I did some random youtubing recently.

Is it safe to say that the first two singles have to be the 2 best songs he has ever written...

I hope it sounds like Flick or some southern rock meets Oasis - I'd love if Dan Auerbach was the producer.
I expect something in the vein of Shine a Light, hopefully better, though.

Whatever it is, i hope its better than Beady Eye, their songs were awful.
I'd imagine it's going to be some sort of Lennon rip off anyway. He should go in and collaborate with someone that isn't going to do something straight forward. Infact, instead of Noel doing an album with Amorphous Androgynous, Liam should have done something with them, or Death In Vegas again or even Sitek again.
Beady Eye working with Sitek was a good idea in theory, but they just didn't have the material and you can't really polish a turd. That's why Amorphous Androgynous are good, they can take a song and do something unique with it and that's probably what Liam needs. He might have some nice melodies and whatnot, but he's not exactly a musical visionary.
If he has worked with someone rather straight forward that's just going to capture some sort of Lennon vibe or Oasis vibe, it's going to be pretty awful.

I am fully with you on Beady Eye being terrible. But for the love of God what is the with the hard-on for Sitek. They created zero magic together. If it doesn't work the first time then try someone new. Nothing special came from Sitek/Oasis imo

I am fully with you on Beady Eye being terrible. But for the love of God what is the with the hard-on for Sitek. They created zero magic together. If it doesn't work the first time then try someone new. Nothing special came from Sitek/Oasis imo Well as i said, in theory it was a good idea but it didn't really work. I think Beady Eye were too stuck in their ways and didn't really have good material anyway. If you're gonna get a guy like Sitek in, then basically you have to give him a lot of control and let him do his thing. I'd imagine Beady Eye did to a certain extent but probably drew the line when it got too far outside of their comfort zone and if you're gonna do that, then there's no point in working with him. Plus as i say, the songs they had for that album were so weak anyway, i doubt there was much you could do with them. He could add all the production and horns and whatever else, but you're still left with little substance. That's probably why Liam would be better collaborating with someone like Death In Vegas or Amorphous Androgynous, even if it's still classed as his solo project, not just for production but the whole creative process. If you're a producer and he brings 15 Lennon wannabe/oasis type compositions to you basically finished, there isn't a whole lot you can probably do with it. Then again, it's just down to what he's happy doing. If he wants to release some sub par Oasis sounding songs i.e Beady Eye, then good for him if that's what makes him happy. But if he wants people to take him seriously as a solo artist and surprise a few people, i'd say he needs some help to create something that people are not totally expecting.

It'll probably be a Dear Prudence type song.
