Shame we didn’t get to 12 for whatever reason but those 10 songs are absolute belters. Good work everyone I'm with you. The album closing with When the Levee Breaks, You Can't Always Get What You Want, and White Rabbit as a coda is pretty good. I'll put up a Spotify playlist for this in a little while.

How the hell did When The Levee Breaks beat God Only Knows? Led Zep over The Beach Boys?!
Now that coronavirus has kept us all in doors, we'll get this up and running again very soon.

I would definitely be up for finishing the album. Seems a shame with only 2 tracks to go

I would definitely be up for finishing the album. Seems a shame with only 2 tracks to go I'm up for that too. Keep in mind these taken artists for song 11 nominations: The Stone Roses, The Beatles, Oasis, Pink Floyd, The Smiths, Massive Attack, The Kinks, Led Zeppelin, The Rolling Stones, Jefferson Airplane

The obvious choice is Nightswimming by R.E.M., as has been mentioned before(well by now it's probably two years ago). I can't imagine any other song putting up a fight to be honest.
Anyway, On A Plain by Nirvana is a tune. And Tired Eyes by Neil Young, can't go wrong with that one if you want to have a nice cry in the middle of the night.

Nightswimming might be my favourite R.E.M. song. Gorgeous melody.

If we are starting this up again how about for the last two you can pick any penultimate album track and closing track regardless of the actual track number? Might make the pool a bit more interesting
For example for this round Jean Genie could be eligible for nomination. It was actually track 9 on the Aladdin Same but because there was only 10 tracks it is the penultimate song? Just an idea

Might make the pool a bit more interesting For example for this round Jean Genie could be eligible for nomination. It was actually track 9 on the Aladdin Same but because there was only 10 tracks it is the penultimate song? Just an idea Yep, that's the rule - choose any penultimate track if you wish, regardless of whether it is a track 10 or not. Anyhow, here's the nominations so far (which has been open for two years now...). Remember, no artists or associated artists who have won previous rounds (e.g. no Beatles solo tunes or Ian Brown as all acts represented) and only three nominations per person, just so we're not spreading ourselves too thin! Let's give this another day or two before it goes to the vote. The current list is: Nightswimming - R.E.M Foo Fighters - Everlong Muse - Knights of Cydonia Radiohead - Lucky U2 - Acrobat Red Hot Chili Peppers - Under The Bridge Kendrick Lamar - i DJ Shadow - Midnight In A Perfect World St Vincent - Slow Disco Talk Talk - New Grass New Order - Vanishing Point Nirvana - On A Plain Queens of Stone Age - God Is In The Radio Belle & Sebastian - The Boy Done Wrong Again The Strokes - Take It or Leave It The Verve - Stormy Clouds The La's - Failure Mazzy Star - Into Dust Neil Young - Tired Eyes Bruce Springsteen - Dancing In The Dark (thrown this one in myself for good measure although did torn between that and Paradise from The Rising - have a listen below, it's amazing) EDIT: Hang on, I'd like to put this one forward (technically the closer with an extended reprise that follows though?). Good opportunity to share this.

I think that is time for Bowie:
David Bowie - Rock 'n' Roll Suicide
I didn't want to write some of my personal favourites, that nobody would vote for anyway, and make your job harder, so here are some famous songs that actually maybe have a chance
Arctic Monkeys - When the Sun Goes Down The Doors - The End Lou Reed - Goodnight Ladies Kasabian - Fire

Also, I just realized how long this has been going on for (albeit with a huge intermission). I was still in high school when this started, and now I'm in my third year at university

Best penultimate tunes is a good 'un. Here are the ones that spring to mind: - Strawberry Swing - Coldplay
- Girl/Boy Song - Aphex Twin
- Sprawl II (Mountains Beyond Mountains) - Arcade Fire
- Summertime Sadness - Lana Del Rey
- Family Business - Kanye West
- For Emma - Bon Iver
- Give Up the Ghost - Radiohead
If you're one of those who assumes that Kanye is a stupid rapper who just talks about sex, give this masterpiece a listen:

It's all penultimate tracks on an album, and all three of those songs are penultimate tracks on the albums they're from... Yes, my mistake, I didn't read part about choosing any penultimate track. But on the other hand, I think we shouldn't choose tracks number 10 for example, like No Cars Go, because we already voted for track number 10 and that song lost. In my opinion, it would be more fair that for that for track number 11 we choose all tracks number 11 on albums plus all penultimate tracks above 11 and plus all other tracks above 11 on albums that are not last tracks on album. This way, many great song that are number 13 for example on some albums but are not penultimate and last songs on albums will never get a chance.

Voting is now open! I've tried to keep nominations to a minimum for each member. As a reminder - since it's been two years since the last round - it is three votes each and winner revealed on 29th April!
