This Christmas became his last Christmas I wasn't a big fan if him, but at least he gave inspiration to Fade Away. (Wham song freedom sounds really similar to it)
RIP

www.rollingstone.com/music/news/george-michael-dead-at-53-w457753"I am in deep shock," Elton John wrote on Instagram. "I have lost a beloved friend - the kindest, most generous soul and a brilliant artist. My heart goes out to his family and all of his fans." "I just saw the sad news about George Michael as I was heading for bed," Queen guitarist Brian May, who worked with the singer on 1992's Freddie Mercury Tribute Concert, wrote on his site. "I donβt have the words. This year has cruelly taken so many fine people way too young. And George? That gentle boy? All that beautiful talent? Can't begin to compute this. RIP George. Sing with Freddie. And the Angels."

I have vivid memories of discussing George Michael during a lower grade school trip, aged about 12, whether or not "Faith" was a good song. (The things you remember, eh?) Never would have called myself a fan, but listening through his songs now just brings home how good he was.

He was 17 when he wrote this: Let that fucking sink in. Talented dude, some great tracks, some not so much, all in all seems to have been a good person with his own demons. 2016 strikes another blow. What does this remind you of? (this was recorded in 1990)

He wasn't a bad businessman. According to the Sunday Times Rich List 2015 of the wealthiest British musicians, Michael was worth Β£105 million. His music wasn't quite my taste a few catchy tunes. He did a lot of charity work.
Without George Michael we might not had Robbie Williams.
It seems this year a lot of very unique musicians left us.

this is so sad to look at. i remember when 'faith' dropped in 1987. that album was huge, it spawned something like 6-7 hits here in the united states. was definitely one of 'the big ones' from my jr. high- high school years. the good news: in less than a week's time we get to say goodbye to 2016 for good. good fucking riddance.

the fact it was done in secret just shows its sincerity, wasnt done to simply get some media attention to say "oh look at me, arnt I great". respect.

Can't say I was a fan. Didn't mind Wham! and his solowork had a few alright songs, but overall not really my taste. However, he was one of my favourite male singers. Whenever I have to name my favourite singing voices, George Michael is always in my list. He was a great singer.
I also admire the fact he did a lot of charity work and didn't want the publicity. That's really sincere. Yet a lot of people keep on criticising him because he was gay. Sad.

Oh for fucks sake, Westboro attack George Michael now? Stop putting words in your God's mouth. What, they're saying that he won't go to Heaven or something because of his sexual preference? As far as I'm concerned, it's also a bad action to condemn other people, and depending on how they are acting there, it can even be taken as *ahem* blasphemy.

They're being more guilty than Michael if you go by the "list of sins" in that sense. Also, wasn't God supposed to be merciful or something like that?
