This has got to be the most anticipated gallagher album since the break up of oasis Here or the general publin? Because with the press conference, HFB's was far more anticipated, far more. Yeah properly this forum lol |

Yeah properly this forum lol In either case, I would still say that HFB's was far more anticipated (in the general public and on this forum). Beady Eye failing on DGSS, Noel's relative silence after the break-up, the first time having an entire album written by Noel since BHN, and then the press conference created a swirl around him that isn't here with Liam. You can go back to the posts from when HFB's was released. There have been a few posts about Liam going solo, but the first HFB's, as evident by the amount of posts pre-release, was just far higher. Liam's solo album release is the calmest I've seen this forum around a release since BE. DGSS, HFB's 1, DOYS, DBTT, were all far more highly anticipated. |

so Liams solo album isnt as anticipated as HFB... If you put them against eachother, one was the first sólo álbum after Oasis, Liam will be in his third(yeah the first under his own name). Noel was the one that wrote the classic 2 albums(mainstream thinking), this álbum will be the first time ever that Liam has written all of the songs. Liam havent sung all the songs in a álbum since DM(if you count the BDI albums), NGHFB was the first time that Noel sung all of the songs(but in latter Oasis albums had more and more songs sung). I Am bored what was the point I was trying to see? We need to know more until we can judge, but I dont think mainstream people will listen, if they do Liam has to put his best song as the first thing out(or at least something that isnt a throwback to 1965). Putting a song in a soundtrack/ad/movie could help lots like What a Life did for Noel. I want to see him success, that's all. I think we all do, dont we? |

I think people outside of the forum will give this a chance, as they did with the first BE album then wrote them off very quickly. If it's an ok album, with good singles, plus 50% oasis in the live set, it should work out ok.

I think its important to manage your expectations. I don't really know what others are expecting but for me if this record gives us 2 or 3 crackers, 4 or 5 good ones then along with seeing him live again I will be very happy.

I think that's the way it's going to be. 4 or 5 really good new Liam songs with an amazing one in there and a few real shit skippers that make me say "god liam, wtf?" .... I'll take it just to see him play live again and be out there doing his thing. |

I ain't that optimistic. probably the best attitude to have imo, if he doesnt deliver much then it aint surprising, if he delivers something pretty damn good then it will be all the better. my hype for this is somewhat grounded, its hard to get my hopes up too high when I know what Liam has written in the past, I heard that song in the pub, BWTB part 2, the apparent lack of other songwriters is somewhat worrying from my view, I simply dont see him writing a collection of songs way above his established quality mark, not to say I dont mind hearing some new songs in the same vein but I want to see more from him. Im not thinking the album will be dire at all but Im thinking its going to be along the lines of "these people", something thats fairly middle ground, not poor but not amazing either, its just fairly ok. like Ive said before, it depends whether Liam lets this lennon obsession take over his work again. The first single should give us a fairly good idea of where hes going with this. |

I think it's pretty normal that there's no hype yet since we're still at a point where people are not supposed to know what's going to happen.
No official word yet, it's all kept under wraps. Don't think there was much attention on Noel either before official announcements.
Liam hasn't launched his solo career yet but I hope it's going to happen very soon cos the waiting is killing me! I'm super excited for what's to come and love every single piece of insider information people are dropping here!
I hope bastardnumber1 is legit cos I like what he was saying lol But I have to agree that his sudden silence is awfully suspicious.
So any chance we'll get the first announcement this week? I'm crossing my fingers for tomorrow!

Beady Eye didn't even have 5 good songs. I ain't that optimistic. Four Letter Word, World Outside My Room, Off At The Next Exit, Back After The Break and Start Anew I reckon are Oasis-worthy. Flick Of The Finger is a decent opener, In The Bubble With A Bullet, Millionaire and Evil Eye are decent. Not many written by Liam though which is what worries me. |
