I admit I had to giggle a little after reading this: "A few hours ago, on a very well known Oasis’ forum, a user who interviewed Liam Gallagher..." Why is it so hard to name at least the forum? When you quote Liam you also don't write "the singer of a very well known english band" Just saw this on my facebook feed, it made me chuckle. You must feel like a celebrity right now! So is it safe to say now you and liam are proper tight, we will see you getting snapped by the paparazzi when your both out for a morning jog? I will just edit this post whenever something interesting happens. Lot of people here, I can't tell any band members (sorry), Liam is here already looking cool as fuck wearing sunglasses and a black parka although it's 30 degrees at least in here... and there's a tambourine hanging down his mic  I'm only allowed to film from one perspective (straight at Liams mic) and whatever gets recorded I need to get checked after. They just started making noise (nothing more  ) but Liams "1,2" gave me goosebumps. Last time I heard him live was nearly 3 years ago in rome. First song is a new song that I dont know. Loud and fast. Liams voice sounds great. Tambourine is smashed already Flick of the finger right after Flick again cause it was aborted. Liam said "even U2 fucks it up sometime" New song. Again loud and fast. Those three songs would make one hell of a start. What was that sound ringing around your brain My ears are ringing already but this is totally worth it. Dont think they start their sets with this but Liam sounds great still. No cutting words at all. Trumpets come up for the next song which is a new one. Wow...huge song, they ended it with a few bits of Whatever. Next one is Evil Eye... Power cut during evil eye which didnt sound good to be honest. Liam is pissed Back again, Liam said "30 songs to go"  Listen Up!!! lower key but this was perfect. Next ones will be BHN songs. DYKWIM Ashcroft is here DGA and SBM in very short versions. Liam didnt sing a lot of them and they cut the songs. MBM next one. All in all Liam is on fire his voice is great so far. Short break now. Mic also just got smashed Ashcroft will do two songs with them later. Could also be in London with Liam in march but he didn't wanna say for sure. Few things: I can't prove any of this now so either you believe it or not and I'm fine with both. But wait a few more weeks/months and you will see yourself. And no this won't be the setlist for the shows they just test the songs. Also I'm not the only one here. People from Q and NME are here too as far as I saw. Acoustic, repetitive, nananas, with Ashcroft on guitar and backround vocals (singing nanana with Liam on the same mic) First single sounds huge live. Big chorus and solo. Another new song. Sounds great. Ashcroft on guitar. But Liam isn't happy BOADCI've always always wished this baby was around during the SOTSOG sessions. It needed real production from a real producer. Has so many cool ideas that are wrecked by terrible recording jobs. Such a shame. Would be cool to hear live. Didn't get to hear it on my part of the HC tour. Vegas baby, Vegas!!!! |

[/b][/quote] That's a good point - I've never been a fan of the song, so derivative of Lennon and its retro sound is indicative of a band run out of ideas. But add the Spike Stent layered productions, and more psychedelic textures, then it would have been a worthy contender for SOTSOG for sure. Aside from that, still couldn't care less about the Plastic Ono Band rip off. |

Whatever's my jam haha At the end of the Lock the Box interview (done to promote/be a companion piece to Stop The Clocks) he says at the end: "Is Whatever on there?", and when someone replies no, he says "thank fuck for that" or words to that effect. He's said some other things about it in the past, as well, I think. I dunno, guigsysEstring will probably know more. Obviously there was the incident at Maine Road... They are the only two I can think of from the top of my head (unsurprisingly in a hotel room! ) although Liam is well documented on not being fond of Wonderwall, albeit he has acknowledged it is one of their biggest if not biggest song. |

Incidentally, my brother was watching the football the other day, on Sky Sports, and he said that that tune got played over the montage they always stick on at the end. How does that even happen?! Such an obscure song as that. My brother (who was the one who got me into oasis) didn't even know what it was, he just recognised Liam's pre-Definitely Maybe voice on it. Someone at Sky must be a fan. Either that or Noel's working his way up dirty digger Rupert Murdoch's contacts is paying off well (apparently Fox News played Idler's Dream or something recently)... |

The only thing I'm not liking about the songs picked up until now are the BDI tunes: "In the Bubble with a Bullet", "Flick of the Finger", "Soul Love", "I'm Just Saying" and "Off at the Next Exit" are the only Beady tunes I'm really into and I could tolerate "The Roller" given that it was their biggest song, so far only "Flick..." has popped up... But I'm glad he's seemingly ignoring DGSS, a good sign (am far more of a BE fan). But overall I'm excited as hell and the Oasis tunes are generally top notch choices so far!

Yeah, we've seen plenty of this nonsense over the years. Remember that I Wanna Live A Dream In My Record Machine EP from exactly 8 years ago (that were Curlies was it not?)? He went as dedicated as to mocking up the artwork - very convincing artwork it was too, so I've seen plenty of hard effort go into trolling. More hard evidence and I can get on board, but until then, I'm off. |
