Everyone can list his top 50 songs and in the end, we'll get the top 50 of the forum.
Some rules:
_ You can rank the tracks on your list if you want, but all of these count for one single point, anyway.
_ No more than 3 tracks by the same band/artist.
_ If two songs get the same amount of points, the band/artist who'll have been the most cited will have the better ranking.

The idea is really good, but for people like me who can't "rate" songs as "most" favourite, it's gonna be a hard guess. But yeah, I suppose Live Forever will get a pretty high score 'round here

I'll have a stab at a top 10. So, as of October 31st 2016: 1. Common People (Pulp) 2. Life On Mars? (Bowie) 3. Kashmir (Led Zeppelin) 4. D'You Know What I Mean? ( oasis) 5. Don't Look Back In Anger ( oasis) 6. Disintegration (The Cure) 7. So Far Away (Carole King) 8. Dear Prudence (The Beatles) 9. Here, There And Everywhere (The Beatles) 10. Barbarism Begins At Home (The Smiths) I'll update when I have more time on my hands (and, basically, once I know of more songs...) I thought I had a pretty eclectic taste in music, but lubeck, your favourite albums of 1990/1991/... threads have convinced me otherwise! I need to pull me socks up...

I'm quite happy for seeing Life on Mars? on this list and have no idea why

This is what I was thinking aswell. At first, I picked 3 songs by my favourite bands/artists and then, I've added other song I do love and I had a fucking big list of 80 songs ! The most diffult is actually to not forget some songs, what I'm sure I did.

I admire how the rest of you have so much time on your hands that you can't think of anything better to do than the excruciating task of trying to narrow this list to only 50 songs, let alone try to rank them.

Going to have a stab at this later. Have to think about some songs to submit to the top2000 soon anyway. Ranking them will be insanely difficult though..

I found it easier picking one per artist, alphabetically. Just went through my CDs and then, for the one-hit-wonders, through my mp3 player.

I'm starting counting, even the unfinished lists. Of course, you still all have a lot of time to do or change your list.
Two songs stand out at the moment.
