It does look decent.
I just hope there's not the same level of fan service as there was in The Force Awakens. That film did plenty right, and it was an enjoyable enough blockbuster romp, but it was also a massive fanboy circle jerk - and at times, that was hard to stomach.

It might've been genuinely good and properly groundbreaking at one time, but like Doctor Who, it was always seen to be something watched by man-child nerds, wasn't it? Or maybe that's just in this country. I think Star Wars has had much more of an impact on American culture than it has British or anyone else's culture. But that's to be expected, I suppose. You naturally gravitate to what is familiar to you. And you guys don't half love a whiter that white hero giving a bad guy his comeuppance! And a rags to riches story as well! Check! √

Better than those shitty prequels that made Star Wars uncool and a wasteland for a decade. I'll take Revenge of the Sith over The Force Awakens. Sith is trash. Such a rushed plot. Way too much CGI. Too many Clones doing the purgers that was once Vader folklore. Poor Obi-Wan vs Anakin fight. Flying lava rocks? Gimme a break. Hayden Christensen. Enough said.

Poor Obi-Wan vs Anakin fight. Flying lava rocks? Gimme a break. Hayden Christensen. Enough said. it's the best of the three prequels but still a pretty dumb movie. Pointless character motivations, major plot holes and a cringeworthy cgi-Ffest. Nothing really makes sense if you follow those movies closely, it's a mass. also this: the rogue one trailer looks good btw

phantom menace - bit shit but I have some nostalgia for it, darth maul is on point, I wouldve kept the guy around until the 3rd film when anakin could take him down and then would give a better reason and a stronger payoff for darth vader existing.
attack of the clones - hate it, just boring a shit, correct me if im wrong the clones dont actually attack until the 3rd film so dont understand that, its more of a bridge between the 1st and 3rd film than a movie on its own.
revenge of the sith - I like it, could of been better but I like the darker tone thats over that film instead of the phantom menace vibe, I agree on the CGI its covered in it, will probably age it badly in years to come.

Sadly, this one will have the same plot as all the others.

TFA was a fine movie, but you could tell they were 100% playing it safe - not a bad idea after the prequels, but definitely held the movie back. Everything I've seen in the Rogue One trailers looked amazing.

SPOILER.........
That Tarkin CGI was unreal. Best I've seen in a film ever. Leia wasn't bad either.

So many great moments from the movie, and overall I really liked it. Great references and world expanding, and it tied in with A New Hope wonderfully. It was like having my childhood daydreams put up on the big screen. I can't wait to see it again but with my father, he's gonna lose his mind seeing all these old characters back on the big screen again! GO SEE IT

I'm marveling over the Tarkin CGI but I also want to point out the amazing CGI work done on K2-SO. I totally forgot he was a digital character until this morning. He looks as real as 3PO or R2.

I found it a better film than the Force Awakens. The Tarkin CGI was good but no better than the models in the cutscenes for the Battlefield 1 game that came out in October. Not going to spoil but the other cgi character at the end had very wierd looking eyes and threw me off. Biggest advantage this movie has over TFA was it didn't bludgeon you with nolstalgia, the parts of the film that meld with A New Hope perfectly was great, especially explaining how their was a weakness in the Death Star which many fans had questions for. The omninity of the force also gave it more weight whereas in The Force Awakens it was kind of used as a nolstalgia crutch. It really felt like a more grounded story in this universe rather than one that relied on comic relief. Seeing a certain character from the prequels in this as well helped connect the saga better too and was nice to see.

If you think about it, having that small a port on a space station the size of a moon is a feat of engineering, and needed Luke(one of the most natural force users ever) to blow it up. It did make for an excellent movie tho!

Saw it yesterday, absolutely blown away. It felt like actual Star Wars, with the best space battle to date and some absolutely amazing shots along the way. I've seen people criticize the characters, but for such a large ensemble cast, the main characters (Jyn, Cassian, Krennic to a degree) felt very natural.

That was the fucking tits! I somehow managed to avoid spoilers this time. I had no idea whatsoever that Tarkin played a significant role and that Vader would really be let off the leash so to speak. Got to be up there with ESB that. Enjoyed all the new characters, watching Krennic and Tarkin argue was magnificent. I saw it at a shitty cinema so it was only 1080p and the Tarkin CGI looked amazing 99% of the time, I do wonder if it'll hold up when I see it on a 4k screen though. I do think they made him a little too expressive though, those eyebrows were up and down like a *insert funny metaphor here*-too blown away to be funny.
Just really wish we got to see more of Vaders castle, a closer look at him in the bacta tank and seeing him get suited up would have been epic. I also absolutely love the idea of him being a glass canon that spends most of his time meditating in a fish bowl but suits up and terrorises rebels when needed. Awesome!
I've only seen it once but I'd say it's safely an 8/10, maybe 9
I have to admit I'm not really hyped about a Han Solo movie and I honestly couldn't care less about the Boba Fett one. I really wish we could somehow get a Vader/Sidious centric film set shortly after ROTS before JEJ and Mcdiarmid get too old or pass away. I'd be more excited for a film like that than anything else. Fingers crossed!

Fingers crossed! Boba Fett movie I simply don't give a shit about. His character and cool backstory was robbed from us by Attack of The Clones. Now he is so boxed in in what you can do with him. Plus he's just a stupid clone. Argh! The Han Solo movie I'm totally pumped for. Great cast already (Ehrenreich, Glover, Clarke), great screenwriter (Kasdan) and creative director team (Lord and Miller). I trust all those people involved. They just need to set it 10-12 years before A New Hope. Shooting starts in February. Lets get it!!!!!
