The fact that has only just been pointed out says a lot about the albums popularity. Nah, we mention it every year and then have word-by-word the same discussion about Aint Got Muffins, The Nature of Reality, and Dave Sardy. It was the only album I got to experience entirely promotional-wise/release build-up, so I have a soft spot for it.

I loved it at the time and still like it a lot now but like everyone says it could have been much much more
Fun bit of info for the day, To Be Where There's Life is a much better song than Falling Down in my opinion

Shite album. Their worst by a million miles. The Turning is 100x better than all of Heathen Chemistry put together!

probably the best vocals from Liam since SOTSOG, Liam stepped it up on that album, getting 90s Liam with a cutting edge vibe on this record, lost a lot of that gravel in his tone that was apparent HC and DBTT, getting some high notes in im outta time and solider on, generally hearing Liam trying to sing and doing a great job.
just a shame that these vocals didnt carry over into the tour, again though this album couldve been the best album since BHN had the 2nd half been stronger, its a good album that couldve been amazing.
not sure whether these vocals are true to form or whether theyve been worked on but even so amazing considering this was 2007 / 2008.

I wish Noel had written "The Shock of The Lightning" in 1999 because Oasis badly needed a song like that in 2000. Would have gotten a lot of play on US radio. That type of music was en vogue. What are you talking about guv'nor? No. Really. They did make that type of song in Go Let It Out....(which is also an ace track, mind).

It's a cracking album for 00s Oasis. Pisses all over HC and is superior to DBTT. Just about shades SOTSOG because the low moments (Ain't got nothin' and The nature of reality) are still better than PYMWYMI, I can see a liar and Little James. Although none of the tracks reach the majesty of Gas Panic there's a lot of good tracks (Bag it up, I'm outta time, To be where there's life) and some great songs (The shock of the lightning, The turning, Falling down). It's a 7.5 for me while SOTSOG is a 7

Falling Down as to be the most overrated Oasis song ever.

"Gold and silver and sunshine...is rising up Pour yourself another cup of Lady Grey"
Yeah, a proper "back-to-form" album I think. But! It has High Horse Lady on it, one of the very few Oasis tunes out there which I would smash to pieces if it were a physical thing...
On the other hand, it has The Shock Of The Lightning on it, which is one of my most-favorite tunes on Oasis' later releases... Also like Falling Down, The Turning, and Waiting For The Rapture. Some others are decent (not great), and two are bad in my opinion...
I would place this album above the two albums before that, but I wouldn't declare that it's better than Standing On The Shoulders Of Giants...

First Oasis album released after I became a super fan. Bought it in the morning on the way to college ans had to wait until 6pm to listen to it and was instantly gutted I hated 'Bag It Up' (still do). Its alright isnt it? An average album. A few poor tracks, a fee good ones. I've never liked Bag It Up either. DOYS is probably my least listened to Oasis album by quite some distance.

Go Let It Out is not TSOTL. It's not as catchy and modern. So what the fuck are YOU talking about mate!

Lots to like on this album IMO, and I still do like the last 3 tracks - though this album definitely needed a kitchen-sink Record Machine in that last run of 3.

So much wasted potential with this record. Noel had enough songs to do the whole thing, it would have been a classic if he had.
...and though relationships turned dire during the tour, musically it was one of their best.

I bet Noel was listening to the White Stripes and Queens of The Stone Age at The time, that heavy stomp blues sound and also I can detect some desert rock influences throughout The record.

My fourth favourite Oasis album. Yes it has a few shit songs, but so does DBTT and the production on DOYS is obviously much better.
I can listen to this without skipping anything, but I rarely do.
I remember seeing the videos for TSOTL and Falling Down on tv. Strange how I didn't become a fan back then.

Hate the album... except for Shock Of The Lightning, none of the songs on it come anywhere near my top 30 Oasis songs. Everything about it bores the hell out of me. Pretty much prefer any song off Heathen Chemistry or Don't Believe The Truth than DOYS

BOY WITH THE BLUES Would have been amazing. Such a strong album *cycle*, shame the album itself was so flawed. But honestly who even listens to albums nowadays anyway!? Pretty easy to make your own playlist version. Little James hasn't been on the mossy version of SOTSOG for over a decade!
