In my opinion they should have released a record in 1999 after Be Here Now, or 1998 after Morning Glory, they had the momentum to wait a few years in 1996 but not by 98. I think they probably wanted to have a record out in 99 but were foiled by the changes going on in the band. The situation was basically impossible in 98/99 and the worst management mistakes were really made in late 96, you can't really blame them though because the band's rise was so fast and emphatic! DYKWIM release over Christmas 1997 followed by a 1st quarter 98 release for BHN and an outdoors summer tour would have been amazing though! Hindsight is a wonderful thing. In all honesty the anticipation/let-down would probably have been even greater. They wouldn't have stopped the partying, they wouldn't have stopped the cocaine-inspired production. They had to go through what they did to make a record like SOTSOG.

If they had any balls, they would have released PYMWYMI or ICSAL as the lead single.Yep, I said it. If they had any balls, they would have released Little James as the lead single.

I actually don't think the failure of Be Here Now was down to cocaine or partying; more down to not taking a good 6 month break after the Morning Glory Tour imo!

Yes, and its a great song. But too similar to Hindu Times as an opener, and I had to choose one or the other. I opted for HT, but they are both great tracks. If they had any balls, they would have released PYMWYMI or ICSAL as the lead single. Yep, I said it. Two of the worst songs ever made. Yep, you said it...

In fairness to them... they released Shakermaker off an album that contains Slide Away and Bring It On Down. Also, they released Sunday Morning Call off this album, which is inexcusable.

I like Little James, the only thing that bothers me is that instrumental parts are a little bit boring. But I think that's more Noel's fault than Liam's. (Didn't they record the song when Liam went on a holiday with Patsy so when he came back he could do the vocals?)

Imagine if they had put an album out like this - 1. Put Yer Money Where Yer Mouth Is 2. I Can See a Liar 3. (Get Off Your) High Horse Lady 4. Ain't Got Nothin 5. Shakermaker 6. The Nature of Reality 7. To Be Where There's Life 8. Force of Nature 9. Who Feels Love 10. Soldier On Now that would be shocking!!

I think they were supposed to release Bring It On Down as a single but they failed to record it because Tony couldn't do the drums.

I think management had that one right, Building momentum For the release of the album.

Tony did eventually get the drums for 'Bring It on Down' right at a later date for the song that Alan McGee wanted to be their debut single, but 'Supersonic' was written and recorded at Pink Museum Studios for one of the sessions for the former song by Noel Gallagher, with that song recorded once and being the only version they recorded during the album sessions.

They did it again. Yesterday they shared on Facebook a Youtube link of the whole Lowlands Festival gig from last month. Guess what, it was not an official upload and it got quickly taken down (probably because it was noticed by VPRO NL, the copyright owners of the footage, which are a bunch of bastards). Nice one, management! Why don't you put some official, HD footage on the NG/NGVEVO channels, instead of sharing "illegally uploaded" stuff which was shared by the same fans that you love persecuting?

Does someone know how youtube works with copyright?
Sometimes videos get completly deleted, others only get blocked in some countries (like Angola, Guinea or Ethopia...). Then there are videos where you can't make money but the copyright owner.
What are the criteria for those decisions?

They are blocked by keywords or just the owner crawling youtube and alerting the site. So if you name an illegal Oasis video "Fun in my backyards" there's little chance it will be noticed and blocked.

The Masterplan always gets detected (supersonic trailer) and it says ignition has the copyright. No problem with that but when do they decide to delete, block or just leave it to make money?

Unfortunately Noel from Lowlands isn't on demand on their website, but to my knowledge, they're not the ones who make things hard. 3voor12.vpro.nl/luisterpaal/playerpage.POMS_S_VPRO_1768343.htmlTo me it's like a cat and a mouse play, but one thing for sure, we - fans who still care for Oasis even 7 years after split and Gallagher brothers never receive what we deserve in return of our trust and support for them.

This is very true mimmi, 3voor12 usually have great gigs on demand on their website at excellent quality. However, I've tried many times to upload on YouTube parts of gigs which weren't available on replay and they got taken down almost immediately with threatening copyright infringement messages. I can understand that they want people to visit their website, but in my opinion footage which isn't available to watch there and gets uploaded to YT is only free and good publicity for them. Also, thanks to how YT works, they could monetize the video you uploaded and get some money from it.

They are blocked by keywords or just the owner crawling youtube and alerting the site. So if you name an illegal Oasis video "Fun in my backyards" there's little chance it will be noticed and blocked. Unfortunately YT is a lot smarter than that. Their content recognition system has become pretty good in recent times. It can recognize not only the original audio, but also slightly sped-up/pitch-shifted/slightly altered audio. The same applies to video content: sometimes even mirroring or cropping doesn't work. What happens next depends on the copyright owner: some videos are deleted automatically and immediately after the upload, some others get blocked in a lot of countries, some have the audio removed... or if you're lucky they could decide to "monetize" your video. The video doesn't get deleted, you receive a notice that the owner of the content has decided to get money from it and everybody's happy

Each to their own. Give me Some Might Say, The Fame, (I got) The Fever or Step Out any day of the week. These are the kinds of songs I prefer. I prefer those songs too, but you can't have the same songs on an album. Absolutely. But then if we are looking at different types of songs to vary an album, then give me Going Nowhere, The Masterplan, Listen Up, It's Better People, Half the World Away, Whatever, Take Me Away. Now they are decent songs, not garbage like Shakermaker or Soldier On. There is no comparison.
