Terrible tragedy. I feel for the victims of this violence.  Makes me wonder, why don't they screen you before you enter the airport? Wasn't this issue brought up in the wake of Brussels? You have to go through security before even setting foot inside the building when in the Middle East. And to think about those long lines! Surely a terrorist could just take a gun and kill a lot of people without even bring screened? You also have to wonder how many people in the U.S. will even take any notice of this attack. When Britain or France is hit by terrorists, everyone in America freaks out, but when people in Turkey are massacred, Americans give no cares, despite Turkey being a member of NATO and a key ally of the U.S. in the War on Terror. Bet most Americans can't find Turkey on a map. And that might be the real tragedy: ignorance. |

I understand you are trying to make a point, but as an American living in Turkey, I take exception to this. This is the bloodiest year in Turkey's history regarding terrorism and I hear from my friends and family constantly as they are worried about me. When I read the stories of the attacks, I almost always read American media outlets. It's both covered and significant in America. Maybe you can focus on the tragedy instead of looking for ways to argue about something insignificant.

Airports have not been designed to accommodate this at all. I tend to agree that a pre-screening as it were could potentially help, but if you leave the lines outside instead, then someone could just as easily ride up and do the same thing outside, right? Or worse, drive a bomb laced vehicle into the crowd. It's a tough one to solve. People need to stop being douches. |
