Liam sung proper early versions / demos / rough takes of Champagne Supernova, Don't Look Back In Anger and Wonderwall and other Morning Glory era songs, no more of these, although nice to have, Noel acoustic versions. Liam was the voice of a generation and excelled himself 20 years ago so showcase him which they didn't do with the Definitely Maybe and Morning Glory reissues. davidjay has spoken of "Wishing Stone" the first version of Wonderwall so get that on there along with the Bonehead sung Bonehead's Bank Holiday. There will be better quality versions of Lock All The Doors, Coming On Strong, the Cover of a Real People's tune mentioned in the Live Demonstration Tape reissue. There's also the Comfortably Numb version of Slide Away and the studio take of I Am The Walrus. If we're getting any live tracks then release something from Balloch Park, going by a couple of guys I know who went to it and Knebworth, Balloch was miles better!

Aye Balloch is Loch Lomond. It is a country park located beside the Loch itself.
Only 5 minutes up the road from me. I still remember listening to the gigs from outside the park, was too young according to my parents to go ... No wonder, it was absolutely mental outside, a great atmosphere but still an amazing memory for me even though I couldn't get in, I was 15 and desperate to see Oasis, had to wait another year an a bit before they came back to Glasgow in December '97 and they ended up getting bottles chucked at them onstage and walked off! Good times haha!

Would like to hear the initial Monnow Valley take of Slide Away, which recording engineer Dave Scott has previously described as having a much slower, "Comfortably Numb" vibe. There may be a mix of this from the abortive sessions at Olympic. The demo of Rock n Roll Star, remixed from the Realies' 8-track masters (rather than off the mono cassette of Live Demonstration) would be cool... Assuming the multi tracks exist of course. Will post more later - got to get back to work right now

An interest topic raised here, mossy , but I confess I am still a little disappointed on entering this thread and reading your OP. I thought from your title, that the makers of the film had reached out, through the Oasis twitter account or something, to ask for requests for songs to be played over montage bits or whatever. You see, I'm absolute DESPERATE to know whether we'll get any Be Here Now songs - you know, what with it only going to '96. I have the scene all mapped out in my head: A final shot of the band stood side by side at Knebworth fades out and Noel says something quite melancholic about how nothing was ever the same after that and then... up pops the music video for D'You Know What I Mean? as we go to the end credits...

My kingdom for all of this. Especially that version of Slide Away.

Whoops, sorry Jim - didn't notice you'd already mentioned the Comfortably Numb version of Slide Away; was posting from my phone and didn't see the whole thread. The Beatles Anthology has a demo sequence for Strawberry Fields Forever, and I always wondered if something similar would be possible for Oasis. Imagine a demo sequence that takes you from an acoustic demo of Champagne Supernova, through to a rough studio mix, before building up to the final version. I guess if there aren't many Liam-sung demos from this period, they could be mocked up by making new mixes of Noel's acoustic guitar run-throughs with Liam's final vocals. All this assumes time and money to recall the multitracks, book a studio to have them remixed of course. Other Morning Glory-era material I'd like to hear: The version of Wonderwall taped on the wall outside Rockfield Studios. Bonehead's take of Bonehead's Bank Holiday (i.e. edited highlights of the five-hour tape Bonehead mentioned when interviewed by MOJO in June '05). The alternate take of She's Electric with Bonehead on piano (see the tracking sheet printed in the sleeve of the MG reissue). (From Select magazine's review of Morning Glory)
In his book Getting High: The Adventures of Oasis, Paolo Hewitt mentions an unheard demo tape that Noel recorded in early 1996 - featuring a further seven songs not on the Mustique tape. I've always wondered what these were, and if indeed any of them have been released since... (Getting High, pp. 386-7). This is pre-Oasis of course, but I'd also love to hear some of the acid house demos that Noel recorded with Mark Coyle in the late 80s.

I would have liked to have heard any pre-Oasis material such as 'The Rain' demos if it is delving thoroughly into Oasis history, particularly with the researchers trying to get hold of Chris Hutton at one point. Other than that I think davidjay and Jim have it covered. davidjay Bonehead's 'Pleasure and Pain' demos for posterity would have been nice, but that's probably a) too far back to be considered part of the story and b) I doubt Paul Arthurs would hand them over anyway, he seems happy to have them as the past. I think the Noel/Coyley acid house work IIRC is held on a single tape that for some reason Phil Smith has, although I can't be 100% on that.

I think davidjay and Jim should put together any Oasis retrospective releases from now on. Ignition are balls at it.

This soundtrack is probably when we're going to get a few of the early demos like Take Me, See the Sun, Colour My Life on an official release. Fingers crossed there may even be early demos we've never even heard of that are on the soundtrack.

I think there's also a studio version of I Will Believe in the vault? Not that we really need it though, the BBC version is great.
