Welcome to my first thread (hooray)!
In which we give listenings tips on tracks that are at least 8 minutes long but still manage to sustain greatness throughout.
Before this thread is goes overboard with 70's prog I'll start with this wonderful pop gem, possibly Trevor Horn's greatest production work ever.
Things of note: - The killer bassline. Possibly played by Frankie bassist Mark O'Toole, or perhaps Trevor Horn himself. - Holly Johnson's smashing vocals. Co-vocalist/mustachioed dancer Paul Rutherford also gets a few lines. - "Pleasuredome EEEERECT!" (around 3 minutes in)
Now it's your turn! The 38-minute track from HC containing Better Man and The Cage is banned.

Led Zeppelin - Achilles Last Stand
Related thought: how fucking ridiculous is it that iTunes still have every song over 10 minutes unavailable to buy other than with the rest of an album? Something needs to be done about that. You know Bowie had to cut down his song 'Blackstar' from 11 minutes as it was originally planned to be, to 9:59 or something, just so that his fans could buy his music?
Is there actually a reason for them not allowing you to buy songs over 10 minutes, or do the suits at Apple just wield too much power?

Great thread andybellwillring ! Under the Pressure - The War on Drugs. Seriously, if you've never heard this one you should listen to it now (and to the full Lost in the Dream album while you're at it). Layers of dreamy guitars, a driving piano riff and a three minute long ethereal ambient coda. Unbelievably good stuff. Wakin' on a Pretty Day - Kurt Vile. One of my favorites from 2013. And now a couple of classics... Tubular Bells (Part 1) - Mike Oldfield. Fucking masterpiece. Pigs (Three Different Ones) - Pink Floyd. Incredible song and album.

The Perfect Kiss by New Order (12 inch version) definitely. One of my all time favourite songs. One of the best single mixes ever! Continuing on the Low-life theme; the complete version of Elegia is marvellous:

Many Neil Young songs...
My favourite lengthy piece is Walk Like a Giant, which is about 16 minutes long.
