Kurstin and Wyatt are doing a brilliant job. Long may it continue.

Kurstin and Wyatt are very talented songwriters. I don't see any difference between them and Noel: it's pop/rock. It always has been. This.

I was thinking about the weird shuffling of tracks on Liam's MTV Unplugged release and how it may be about algorithms and trying to get people to stay with it for as long as possible to maximise streaming revenue, like the way WMWN has songs all pretty much of the same length for that, and how shitty a reflection of the music industry that is.

Kurstin and Wyatt are very talented songwriters. I don't see any difference between them and Noel: it's pop/rock. It always has been. It's the same genre, that's about it. Noel wrote live forever, these guys wrote Now that I've found you. One's good, the others not, that's the difference.

Wonder how often Andrew Wyatt polishes his Oscar?

I can't say I'm overly convinced by Kurstin & Wyatt. The only tracks they've written I'm onboard with are 'Wall of Glass', 'Come Back To Me', 'One of Us' and 'The River'. I find the other stuff they've written to be very average and in some cases quite poor. They evidently know a fair few pop songwriting tricks which keeps some of this stuff afloat but it's basically the same stuff we've all heard a thousand times before in chart music now applied to Liam. Why would I want to listen to that? To me these Liam Gallagher solo records feel like blatant products of the music industry. Something that's been focus grouped to appeal to as wide of a group as possible, ultimately to make as much money as possible. Don't get me wrong, I don't really care how an album has been produced as long as the end result is good but this formula is really quite lame for someone who claims to be the last rock 'n' roll star. I mean it's about as rock 'n' roll as this...

Not quite, but his Eps and lastest album are a lot better than the trash that Kurtsin and Wyatt have been cooking up. One of Us is one million better than anything on Noel Eps. Gone is one million better than anything on Noel Eps. Why me Why not is one million better than anything on Noel Eps. Once is ten million better than anything on Noel Eps. The whole album WMWN is one million better than anything on Noel Eps. Even the first Beady Eye album is better than Noel Eps. The last Noel album is a masterpiece imo but guess what... it is far from what he wrote in the Oasis years and it is NOT rock at all.

What's wrong with that? I personally think it's a nice tune. Nonetheless, I get your point, Noel did have weaker songs. However, he's still much better than Kurstin and Wyatt.

I never said it had to be rock, it has to be legit self produced music. As to your other argument, none of the songs you mentioned are half as good as bmr, or any song off the Eps (with the exception of Evil Flower). I also didn't insinuate that what they produce now had to be as good as peak Oasis. I used Live Forever as an example to show how bad and inauthentic Liams team are, not to insinuate that everything the Gallaghers produced could and should be as good as LF.

I read until "legit self produced music". Elvis' Suspicious Minds is not good music because is not "legit self produced music". LOL.

As to your other point (should I decide to call it that), people have always called me disrespectful, but you take it to new heights. This isn't the first time you've done this. You jump into an argument, argue your point, your point gets debunked or challenged, and then you go right to disrespectful cheap shots. Don't bother discussing anything if you're not even gonna bother trying to argue a fair point. Elvis was also around in a different time, before The Beatles. A time where self-produced music written by the artists wasn't prevalent in popular music. He also didn't go around claiming to be the last living rock n roll star, only to record some dodgy bubblegum music the following week.

Think WBTM is an embarrassment and most (not all) of of the EPs are as well... Would rather listen to WMWN songs with Liam’s voice over everything of Noel’s with the exception of TMWBTM.

I mean it's about as rock 'n' roll as this... I think this is the reason I don't go back to Liam's solo stuff as much as many others here. I actually liked the album a lot and the songs are pretty good, but I think it's the authenticity that makes me unconsciously stay away from it. But the fact is, it's hard to stay relevant when you get older and I think Liam's done incredible job staying as popular as he is currently, especially after Beady Eye. Of course I'd like songs he's written himself or if he collaborated with more interesting songwriters (let's say, Anton Newcombe) but it's probably not realistic to expect that and I guess all we should do is be happy for him. I totally get the criticism and the "rock 'n' roll" thing is starting to be on the thin ice but I still think Liam is currently doing a great job and he's doing what he loves and does best which is being a frontman and singing someone else's songs.

LOL Your point is that Liam music is not rock ("claiming to be the last living rock n roll star and bla bla") enough because he's not involved... but, you should know, Liam is involved A LOT MORE in his solo album than in the Oasis years. Liam did NOT write a single second or line of Live Forever or Champagne Supernova. He was ONLY the voice of Oasis until Little James. There is more Liam (as a songwriter) on Once than on Wonderwall. Fact. These days Liam is involved A LOT more in the creations (melodies, lyrics, production) of the tunes. You are dreaming (is the proper verb LOL) about Damon Albarn, Paul McCartney, Pete Townshend... and talk at the same time about ""legit self produced music". Nonsense. The truth is you don't like his music but you don't have a valid argument to support your theory. Bye bye debunking boy

Wow, well hey... His shows are pretty rock n roll, yeah? For me it's still rock n roll when Liam takes his stance at the mic and pours his heart, soul and swagger into a tune... that's rock n roll baby... And that to me is what makes him the last rock n roll star.

I've never been able to compare his two solo albums. I mean, I think the lows of AYW are those songs that he'd single-handedly written, but at the same time, those were the most charming ones too. I don't mind Liam singing other people's songs (although he performing his brothers' tunes and he performing songwriters' tunes is just incomparable) and I do believe that WMWN doesn't have that many not-as-interesting-as-the-others tracks and is in a way a better albums than AYW, but I really miss silly little songs from it like When I'm in Need or Universal Gleam. Can't really explain.

I prefer Liam penned tunes by a Mile albeit being not that perfectly structured or radiofriendly.
