Glad to hear that Liam's recording session in April is with Greg Kurstin. I like the meaty sound of all the As You Were tunes he played on and produced. It even works on Paper Crown, I think. Stops it from turning into Lennon's Oh My Love, which I think is Liam's natural instinct when it comes to ballads.

Agree with you rockrevival. I think Liam lashes out at Noel on Twitter n the likes cos he deep down idolises Noel and wants/craves some form of a positive acknowledgement from him. Liam is like a little boy lost at times. Sad. Anyone ever consider that Noel was a bit like the father figure Liam never had? Or certainly the most positive and encouraging male influence he ever had in his life. Framing it like that may explain a lot of Liam's more emotional reactions to Noel's behaviour.

Focused and committed.

Happy for them to work on the singles, writing the balance of the album would be a mistake. Liam has shown he can write a few good tunes, I'd like to hear them.

I thought the whole fun was hearing Liam sing for new writers.
I bet after As You Were he's got the attention of many more great writers than before.
I'd keep Kurstin for 2-3 songs, do 2-3 of his best songs himself, and let the other half of the album be from brand new writers.
Keep it fresh!

apologies if this has already been discussed, but in 'i've all i need', what does liam say in that little backwards part right before the bridge? @2:52:

I didn't realize you were referring to songwriting! I agree, I'd definitely want to hear more Liam penned tunes or see him take on a bigger role in songwriting but Kurstin's production I think was really solid.

I really like Little James. Its a nice little ballad and the lyrics fit the music beautifully. And Liams voice is gorgeous on the record.

Really enjoying Chinatown lately. This live version is great. it's got to be one of the loneliest feelings in the world to be the sound guy on the side of the stage and getting 'the glare' from liam to turn him up. his voice is stronger than ever, i mean he's hitting notes he hasn't hit since the giants tour. amazing.

I don't know what it is about Eh La that I really like, doesn't really go anywhere but always find myself singing the melody. Hope we get a studio version one day, would make a nice little B-side.

I am totally hyped up for Finsbury Park already and I'm not even going to be there. Anyway, bring it on! 🤘

Brilliant! Amazon should expect a surge of sales in the Manchester area with that ad!

I like how this video starts with Liam's weird stories about China and then gets a bit deeper.
Also, it's funny to imagine Liam doing press-ups as I'm sure he'd do/he does it in his very own way.

Last night I dreamt that Pete Townshend was a special guest star at Liam’s Finsbury gig, but it was the young 70s version of Pete, he started doing his crazy moves on stage while Liam kept still, until I guess Liam get annoyed by it and threw his tambourine at him, and then Pete threw his guitar at Liam. It was a weird but cool dream.
