Coldplay, for sure. Parachutes, AROBTTH, VLV, and X&Y are some fantastic albums with some of the best alternative rock and pop songs of the century so far. Each album has at least two or three of their best songs on it, and there are sooo many standout moments & interesting sounds going on.
One band that doesn't get a proper nod in here is Red Hot Chili Peppers. Their 2000s run was phenomenal, with the Otherside and Californication singles, By the Way, and Stadium Arcadium all being released with some of the band's best and most interesting & experimental works on it (SA has some of Frusciante's best work imo).

Even though they are sell-outs, I really liked Green Day in the 2000s. I liked Warning back in the day.

Good to see Arctic monkeys winning the poll, rightly so imo.
Best band of this decade too.

Never understood the love for Arctic Monkeys, I have got 2 albums of theirs on my Ipod but I always get bored listening to them...give me Oasis of the 00's any day of the week, even DOYS is better than most of their stuff as far as I'm concerned Though to be honest, if I could I WOULD have voted other. This is because I feel there is one band out there during the 00's that have had music on various different British programmes over the past few years, that albums I can listen to whenever I am feeling down (along with Oasis) and that band is: I love the band Athlete, they to me are so easy to listen to and, I don't care how people don't talk about them...I like them so there we go

Where are Travis? The Invisible Band and 12 Memories are great albums, though I'm not too fond of The Boy with No Name and Ode to J Smith.

Guys let's be honest. Oasis were NOT the best band of the 2000s. They released 4 mixed, uneven albums that the critics and fans ignored compared to their 90s success. They became a punchline to joke in this era of the band. Meanwhile other bands rose up and took the crown..................... #Radiohead #Coldplay #ArcadeFire

That's not to say that I haven't listened to more Oasis than other bands, but that still doesn't make them the best.

Oasis weren't even close to being close to being the best band of the decade. They didn't put out one album without significant flaws, and "significantly flawed" was as good as it got.
My top ten:
1. Radiohead 2. Sigur Ros 3. Coldplay 4. Arcade Fire 5. Placebo 6. Eminem 7. The XX 8. Four Tet 9. Jon Hopkins 10. Godspeed You! Black Emperor

Can you be the best band of the 2000s and never release a great or even very good album? #OASIS

Hey I'd love to live in a world where the good times Oasis had between 1994-1996 carried on into the 2000s and beyond. Sadly that isn't the case. They barely made it into 1998 with the same music clout they had in 1996. Coldplay went on to have the type of transatlantic success many of us dreamed Oasis would accomplish. Coldplay have been a global commercial beast since 2000 to this very day. Oasis could never lay claim to that.
