Facts: July 2009, Noel says Oasis aren't splitting up. August 2009, Oasis split up. Logic: March 2016, Noel says Liam can't sing. April 2016, Oasis reunite. Bank it. Yeah, April 1st 2016. Oasis reunite.

I'm not following... What's true? That Noel's solo songs are better than his Oasis ones?? Clearly I was responding to the thread title and the first line of your post, it's not hard to figure out what I'm talking about really given the rest of the post... I'd call you a dumbfuck but I'm probably not allowed. It's a good job you didn't, or, what with your "do unto others..." preaching above, I'd be forced into calling you a "banal arrogant c*ntychops", in return. And we wouldn't want that now, would we? In future, when quoting a post that talks about two completely different things, highlight the bit of the post that's actually relevant. Or you can just delete the bit that isn't. You know, to really make it clear what it is you're responding to.

They hammered each other for the past 20 years that's true, but this specific comment by Noel on Liam was a blow to his pride.

Typical Noel. he makes a off the cuff remark and it will spark up debate. Let's face it Liam can't bring it day in and day out. Neither can. Noel. why he is so boring live. I'll take Liam fronting a band anyday whether he can still sing or not. You don't go to a concert ( well most don't ). To hear the exact tune you hear on cd or vynil. You go for the live interpretation. Why mock is the best frontman ever. Nobody cares if he can sing. They go to see the stones. Noel live is absolutely the most boring live show I ever saw. He made jethro Tull seem interesting ....... Give me Liam and his swagger anyday live. Whether he is a singer or not .....HE WILL ALWAYS BE A FRONTMAN. THAT MEANS SOMETHING TO ME. AND MANY.OTHERS ...NOEL WILL NEVER BE A FRONTMAN NEVER WAS NEVER WILL BE.

I put the interview in google translate and got this as well. 'As you'll see tonight, my songs, like "Lock All The Doors", "Everybody's On The Run", "The Death of You And Me" are themes as celebrated by the public as the Oasis.' I think Noel is (like many other old rock stars) disappearing up his own arse. Tom,obviously the HFB songs are not as good (well a few of them might be up there, but it's subjective) or as well recieved (at least not everywhere) as the Oasis one,and obviously Noel will never be as good a frontman as Liam...he knows it no matter what he says, but why would he be in it if he wasn't convinced his own stuff was good enough to carry on and go out and play those tunes live? This comment about Liam's voice is harsh, maybe even unnecessary, but the point of it all is that he believes he can do it without Liam, which I'm not sure he did when he started back in 2011

Quite ironic though cause his vocal performance on Lollapalooza wasn't very good. However, Liam's gonna go nuts on this one, as soon as he'll find out, that's guaranteed It's a war now.

I find it funny that people find Liam's tweets aimed at Noel hilarious, but when Noel says something back (and let's be honest, he's been quite mature about it, he hadn't said much so far) he can't do that? Wow.
Also, the not a good singer bit is completely true. That's not even having a dig. That's a fact.
Stop overreacting.

says the man who struggles to reach the high notes on his own solo songs Lol don't think you should be using 'struggling to hit notes' as a defence for Liam. No matter how bad Noel is, he's still better than post 2003 Liam.

Everyone knows it, including Liam himself. Not to say he wasn't a good singer before.

It's not that,Noel could have avoided the dig and it would have been better But still I think it's pretty easy to see where he's coming from, and it's not about Liam singing well or not He just feels like he can do it on his own and I don't blame him

I think Noel is right about Liam..we all know that. What shocks me is that he actually said it publicly as this he'll either have to eat his own words if they do reunite or they just won't reunite at all.
Liam's voice may not be the same as it was but his live shows are always more entertaining than Noel's.

Also I saw Beady Eye on the last tour, and his voice was terrible. But I believe the real issue was his voice on the BE album, I thought it was horrendous on most songs. SBOTA really highlighted that fact for me.

Noel is absolutely right but shouldn't have mentioned it. No doubt he is punishing his brother for his stupid tweets, but he's kicking him when he's down and right where it hurts him the most. Liam must be quite self-conscious about losing his voice. Noel has always been the more intelligent brother and should know better than encouraging such childish insult wars.
As for his new songs being better than his Oasis ones, they are definitely better than those from the last Oasis albums (consistently better than everything after Morning Glory, in my opinion). Noel's songwriting was absolutely below par on the last three albums, save a couple of inspired moments. I don't think he had Definitely Maybe in mind when he made that remark.

It took him since 2006 to publicly say "Liam is not a good singer anymore" - 10 years. Now Liam is out of business, it's propably his attempt to make him jealous enough to get him back into the music-biz, or do anything.

Liam's voice was pretty good when I saw BE live But it's clear he struggles holding notes and also his singing is more nasal than before

I've seen him live during BE. His voice was surprisingly fine and almost sounded like it was prerecorded. If you would watch the Paris ballroom gig you would have been under the same impression. Also, his voice in beginning of the touring process of DGSS was quite remarkable.

Funily enough i was testing my girlfriend yesterday on this topic. We watched Noel at Lollapalooza and then i played her Oasis at Itunes festival 2009. The verdict was pretty clear: Angry, losing his voice, sweaty Liam shits all over Noel solo. So the chicks still dig him, it's not that bad.
