Didn't Noel just last week say Liam can't sing anymore? I'm pretty sure he did....

For all the bitching the Gallaghers have done with each other since the Oasis split, the glaringly obvious decline in Liam's singing ability hasn't been mentioned by Noel as far as im aware. This would obviously be a pretty weighty remark because its true unfortunately. Plus it would make life pretty difficult for Noel if the band ever did reform in the future. The press would ask why he was playing in a group with a shit singer etc. It is the most obvious dig Noel could throw at Liam but he hasn't. Why? I think its because of the reasons i've stated but would like to hear other people's opinions. I understand Noel did criticise Liam's voice after the Brit Awards performance in 2007 but Liam's voice has deteriorated a lot more since then i think. He sounds dreadful on certain Beady Eye tracks. If you're not going to bother reading any other threads then don't start them. There's several pages on this very subject...

So Liam or Noel ? Who do you think is better ? :) :) :) :) :) :) Personally I always rated Bonehead above them and consider it a travesty that he didn't sing on Bonehead's Bank Holiday, which would have showcased his vocal prowess to the world B-| Is he better than Gem though, that's the real issue? ;) (rofl) I vote Gem. 110% Gem.

The whole reforming thing is a bit tiresome. I wish people wouldn't ask Noel about it. However..Noel's response about not caring about what fans want isn't necessary even if true....the money thing you can take with a pinch of salt. But the comment about Liam's voice is just a step too far really. Back in the day it was the two combined that crafted the magic for me and Noel should thank Liam that he injected attitude into the band and Liam should thank Noel for the tunes.

From what I remember, in older interviews, Noel always declared Liam as the better singer. I think Liam definitely is, even if his voice has declined in recent years.

Don't know where he said this but "Liam has the better voice. I am the better singer". You can hear it in the Lord Don't Slow Me Down documentary. Some American/Italian radio interview.

Please accept my apologies for not reading every thread front to back and for not following twitter and sadwankers.com for the latest up to the minute noel gallagher reports. Unless you're an admin, don't tell me not to start a thread.

He’s not a good singer anymore”. If there's a thread in the first few lines that directly contradicts your OP then yeah I think you shouldn't make a thread, call me crazy...

I love how the word 'tit' is used as an insult. I find nothing offensive by them. In fact they fascinate me but, each to their own.

Liam still sings better than ian brown ever did imo and no-one seems to have a problem with his vocals.

Totally agree with Noel... He has become a great singer through the years, is writing great songs... Liam fucked up his voice not taking care of it: drinking and smoking like if he wasn´t a singer at all... I would love to see the guys together again, but... what´s the point??? Liam can´t sing anymore... Maybe there´s something to do with his voice, with properly treatment, and will, most than other thing... But, knowing Liam, that´s not going to happen...

I don't think that it has anything to do with cigarettes and alcohol. Noel did the same as Liam for many years. It's just the way he sings. He doesn't really sing but he is shouting.

Have to disagree there chap, in the heyday of Oasis LG was certainly singing, even as late as 2002 on 'Songbird' he was trying to sing not shout. The Jools Holland show in 2000 was when I still remember thinking "Something is not right with Liam's voice" during 'Some Might Say', but I thought he was just having a below par night. These are just my opinions of course but lifestyle I think has a hell of a lot to do with singing abilities. I think with Liam what got me in 2000 was how quickly his voice had seemingly gone downhill, and by 2004 at Glastonbury he was indeed shouting, but unfortunately IMO it's because he could no longer do anything else. The only other singer I can think of with such a similar decline due to lifestyle, albeit over a longer period, is Stevie Nicks. A good article on her vocal by two doctors talks mainly about her rumoured septum damage, but also talks about her loss of range and change in quality as being down to alcohol, cocaine, smoking and technique- all of which sadly could also be said of Liam. The article can be found at Osborne head & neck institute

Of course lifestyle has an influence on your voice. Tjalke, I assume you've heard of Bonnie st. Claire?
