Following on from the success of HC, Im going to go through each of the bands Studio albums. Going back to the start with Definitely maybe.
Again this includes All tracks that were written at the time, let me know if I've made any mistakes... I've decided from the off that I'm not going to include the bootlegs / lost tapes as they were never released anyways.
Poll will close in One weeks time. All the best!

Only mistake I can notice is this being in the Beady Eye section.
Anyway I'd take out Shakermaker and Cigs&Alcohol and put Listen Up and Fade Away in there somewhere, other than that the album can't be improved upon.

I can't imagine DM without Cigarettes and Alcohol. It seems so underrated on here. It's top 5, hands down, on one of the best album of all the time, so it's not nothing.

Would love for Listen Up to have been on there, but with a drum intro very similar to Live Forever, I didn't pick it.

Noel nailed the first 3 album tracklistings. Make one for The Masterplan, SOTSOG, DBTT, STC, DOYS*, NGHFB and CY. *dedicated to mystoryisgory and carryusall

I.e.
If Listen up and Fade Away get chosen for DM and Acquiesce and Its Good to be free get chosen for Morning glory, Then we wont have a great B-Side compilation as they'll be A-sides for the purpose of these threads. When we get to the end of the 94-97 period I will do a poll for the B-sides left though!!

Two things about this thread: 1. The poll doesn't include all of the songs which could've been up for inclusion. Remember that there's the First demo tape, and then the Pre Noel tape, etc. So it looks like you missed at least 10 contenders, even if some are obviously shit. 2. There's no way you will ever improve Definitely Maybe. It is one of the rare Gallagher albums where the best songs ended up on the album in the best way possible. Sure, there are songs like Fade Away and Listen Up, but imo, neither of those would have made the best debut album ever better. The next poll we do should be 00's Oasis, now there's a lot of potential for improvement!

1. Rock 'n' Roll Star 2. Fade Away 3. Live Forever 4. Half the World Away 5. Columbia 6. Supersonic 7. Cigarettes & Alcohol 8. Listen Up 9. Slide Away 10. Married With Children 11. Whatever

I'd happily replace Shakermaker with something else to be honest, but the rest is more than ok as it is!

Was whatever written at the time of recording DM? I mentioned in the first post that I'm not including the list tapes etc... Only songs that have eventually been released. Plus if I included everything on the list tapes they'd be popping up on every thread from now on. Strange thing is included as Live demonstration is classed as an official release.

As was Hello, She's Electric, Going Nowhere, Rocking Chair and a couple of others in one form or another. Listen Up however wasn't available at the time.

Half The World Away, too, was written back in 1991/1992 if I recall correctly.

And there we have it...
The results are:
Rock n Roll Star Shakermaker Live Forever Up in the Sky Columbia Supersonic Bring it on down Cigarettes & alcohol Digsys Dinner Slide Away Married with Children
It's Official. Noely G NAILED the track listing for Their debut album.
Ok... Should we move onto Morning Glory, Be here now, or just skip to the Post Britpop albums?

The tracklisting for Definitely Maybe is the only one Noel got completely right, I think.
Greatest debut album of all time. An almost perfect rock record.
