-Puts on tin foil hat-
What if Liam did write Don't Look Back In Anger? It does resemble Imagine in many ways, which was written by John Lennon, who Liam is obsessed with.
What if Liam wrote the song, but couldn't sing it well enough and Noel loved it, but decided that he'd only perform it live if people thought he wrote it. To not completely take credit, he tells people Liam helped him with the chorus.
Notice Noel doesn't sing Liam songs. Ever. And when he does partially (Songbird) he's a real unpleasant vagina about it.

He probably even took all the credit when mommy Gallagher asked who broke the lamp. I mean, he took credit for Little James, he is obviously thirsty for any credit he can get.

sorry mike parry, what about born on a different cloud, im outta time, pass me down the wine, boy with the blues, I believe in all, start anew.....they might not considered "all time greats" but those are some solid songs. looking forward to mike parrys solo album gonna be a belter. Landfill indie.*Puts hands over head and runs* Trolling aside Mike's point is stupid. Liam's talent is for singing songs, not writing them. Every time I hear or see that phrase two things spring to mind....

I've never got the connection between "Imagine" and "Don't Look Back In Anger" outside the live version of post 2000 with a direct "Imagine" piano lift. The studio version from 1995 bars resemblance to "Imagine" but it is not an exact. Believe you me, the Lennon lawyers would be all over it for credit. Just look what Allen Klein did for the Stones.

How would oasisblues spin this? I think I needed more Illuminati.

Liam died in 1993, you can hear ,,Liam is dead'' if you play DLBIA backwards. He wrote all the best songs before he died and Noel took credit for them and found some local idiot to replace Liam. But Liam didn't actually died, they just thought he was dead and now he is back and he is telling the truth on twitter. He wrote DLBIA and all great Oasis songs. Liam's new album will be better than DM. You heard it here first

What if Paul wrote all the songs, but didn't want any spotlight?

What if Paul wrote all the songs, but didn't want any spotlight? There is a whole thread dedicated to that theory. It's one of the funniest of the history of this forum, if you ask me. I'm just too lazy to search for it.

Yeah, apart from that piano motif at the beginning, there's nothing resembling Imagine. It bears more in common with All The Young Dudes and Pachelbel's Canon (chord progression mirrors that piece like many other bands have done).

It's a kind of chords progression Noel used quite a few times. Ressemblance with Whatever (but in a different key), a lot of chords sequences similar to Half The World Away, Hello, too. DLBIA and Half The World Away also share the same intro chords ( C and F).

Well, if we want to go full circle on Beatles influences, The Scientist was actually inspired by Isn't It A Pity by George Harrison. Chris Martin was figuring out how to play that song on an out of tune piano, and inadvertently stumbled upon what would become his very own composition in The Scientist. Listen to both Harrison's and Martin's songs and you can hear the similarities somewhat.

What if 'potato' has been an endearing nickname all along and we've been frowning at Liam for nothing all this time? I mean, look how cute this potato is, almost as cute as the Chief! Freakish testicle lips are NOT cute! My last girlfriend begged to differ A HURR HURRR Alan Partridge: You say "po-taa-toe" I say "potatoe".

Liam at it again...bored so lets look at some numbers..
different gear still speeding - 186, 746 Uk album sales BE - 71,503 UK album sales
Noel Gallaghers high flying birds (self titled) - 805,000 UK album sales chasing yesterday - 260,000 UK album sales
looks like them beige albums being pushed out by the potato are doing alright all in all........still though chasing yesterday only sold around 74,000 more copies than still speeding according to that.....
