Y'know he could have just meant potato to mean stupid, as is quite common also? I'd like to believe Liam "just" meant stupid, but the fact that he posted the word potato with a picture of Noel looking... well... happily vacant, makes me think there's a good chance he meant it along the lines of "you mong". |

Haha, makes me feel a bit better about my own drunken/drug fuelled social media faux pas...kinda What I don't get is why he's so bitter over Oasis. It gave him the life 99.9% of us could only dream of and there's absolutely nothing stopping him from carrying on in the music business. So what if he's not part of that band anymore, why does it matter to him so much? Pretty much everyone else has to deal with far more real shit and can't spend and shag themselves happy like he can, it just seems really petty. Unless something else far more serious than we're lead to believe has happened between them I just don't get it. Beady Eye were no better or worse than post 2000's Oasis, he wasn't successful because the general public and even artsy hipster types just don't like straight, uncomplicated guitar pop/rock anymore. Noel has been successful because he's really upped his game and released some of the best collection of songs of his whole career, his success wasn't in spite of Beady Eye or anything. He shouldn't be so bitter over it, if he formed Beady Eye in 2004 and released exactly the same set of songs he'd have had a much bigger fanbase. He should have stuck with Beady Eye, he had a bigger and more devoted fanbase than most bands. I really don't get why he, or anyone else for that matter would want an Oasis reunion. |

Hilarious that people think there's some sinister alternative meaning to Liam's use of the word potato. It doesn't mean 'stupid', either. It's just an amusing word that sounds like an insult. Idiots.

In my opinion, he already has 'proved' himself with BE I freaking loved that album and Liams songs. But yeah I completely agree with you, He needs to stop this jealous rage towards Noel and fucking do something and show people around the world he can do it, because if he comes out with a solid album under his name, hel finally earn the respect I think deep down he wants... That being said, if he comes out with something and it sucks, hel be throwing his entire life (music wise) away forever so its a tough decision for him but i just hope he doesn't make the same mistake as Beady Eye and rush things, take your time Liam and make sure its good... |

On a side note if you are American and of a reactionary political persuasion why on earth would you read the Daily Mail? I would have thought the US equivalents are more hardline than a publication that when it has finished stirring up racial hatred, social prejudice and demonising sections of society for the day is nothing more than some celebrity gossip columns that also double up as a property valuation guide. |

Why are you so confident that you know exactly what he meant by that tweet and that anyone with a different opinion is an idiot? Were you in the room with him when he wrote it? Are you in his social circles and privy to the banter he uses with his mates? He's used the word "mong" as an insult in interviews before (aimed at Ozzy Osbourne). I think it's not inconceivable that he meant the same thing here. Or do you not want it to be true because this particular insult hits a bit too close to home spud :-P |
