A lot of people seem to take Liam's tweets far, far more seriously than I'm sure Liam ever does. A large majority of the post people seem to get upset about read very much tongue-in-cheek to me. If he isn't poking fun at his brother, he just seems to be joking around or simply being a bit of a knob... I mean, what's new? Liam's being Liam. Nothing has changed.

Possibly though given the English/Irish history over potatoes I wouldn't think it's Irish- even so these Twitter rants aren't doing him any PR favours in the long run. Well that's but is the irrelevant bit.. Irish people get called potatoes.. We have an Irish colleague that called potato cos of that. The cliche that Irish people are stupid probably were they crossed over is my point. The main point is that it realistically more likely to be calling Noel stupid for whatever reason (obv their is one I'd guess?) vs the sensationalists saying he's talking about Down syndrome Surely calling Irish "potato" is very politically incorrect, millions of Irish died in the potato famine.

Well they don't seem to mind but sure you are horrified good for your morals. I'll inform them and pass on your regards. My point was its much more common that potato is regarded as stupid person than down sydrome.

Well sure you wouldn't anyway but as Keith Lemon calls Irish people potato on celeb juice. A big program that's won countless awards. I don't think that many people are bothered by it tbh

I didn't take the potato thing as seriously as some have. I didn't even know it had that connotation, and I honestly don't think Liam does. However, I wouldn't call "fuck oasis" tongue in cheek. That's pretty direct, no matter if he's having a laugh at Noel. Liam has always said that he respects the fans and Oasis'legacy. He doesn't believe Oasis has ever made a bad album, and understands more so than Noel sometimes, that these are things that are close to Oasis' fans heart. To say, "fuck Oasis," is pretty callous to everything he has said before and puts the fans in the middle of this squabble. I have far more of an issue with that then the usual fights between him and Noel. Imagine if Noel literally said, "fuck oasis." This place would explode.

I think Liams just hurting, he's lashing out because he sees Noel having a successful career away from Oasis and he's upset Beady Eye failed. I don't think he really means "fuck Oasis" it's just his way of dealing with things. Deep down he probably wanted Noel to come back begging him to reform Oasis which he's realising won't happen anytime soon.

I'm sure it's all to do with Noel and Liam's thinking about Beady eyes failure just today and thus this.. I'd say as Spaneli or whoever said it it'll be do to do with the docu and maybe the next cut isn't to his liking and he's think 'fuck oasis' this is bullshit!! Obv not best place to vent but he did .. But this 7 year therapy about Noel and 2 year therapy of beady eye is just 2 spuds in a skin sack

Liam more wears his heart on his sleeve and just lashes out in hurt.

To say, "fuck Oasis," is pretty callous to everything he has said before and puts the fans in the middle of this squabble. Personally I don't think "Fuck Oasis" means anything. I don't think his opinions have changed about the band one bit and I don't think it's disrespectful to the fans - I mean who cares? Oasis is over, everyone knows it and this tweet only highlights it. "Fuck Oasis" doesn't mean "Oasis were shit". If it means anything at all, it's likely Liam's way of saying "Forget about a reunion, it's not happening". You also have to remember that Liam knows Twitter is a very easy way for him to makes waves in public and a comment like "Fuck Oasis" is a sure-fire way of him making 'news' and 'discussion'*. Liam probably laughs his tits off everytime the press do their performance for him and plaster his brotherly insults all over the web. "Potato" is simply the new "Shitbag" - Haha. I very much doubt it. Again it's just a flippant way of saying "Forget about a reunion, it's not happening". *Literally just had an email alert titled "Liam Gallagher tweets 'Fuck Oasis' and calls Noel a potato" ...Yeah.

In my mind, Noel's constant "it would only be for the money and lots of money" is a "fuck Oasis" in itself and every time he says it I wish him never ever to really want it for other reasons cause then he might regret that. And I'm pretty sure Liam said it before, sometime in 2013, and neither the world nor this place did explode.
