Reviving this very good thread with Shiva and the Hazards. They've been around for a few years in Australia and they'll support Ride during their tour there next month. thegear shared them on here a couple of years ago. The new single, Angkor Wat, definitely borrows from Oasis (listen for yourself!) and '90s UK bands. Good one!

I recently discovered Black Pumas, nice 70s retro soul sound. I love the singer's voice

Gonna post a few cool bands from Glasgow... (i realised this song is about DMT lol, if i meet any of their members again i gotta ask about it ) This one is Irish but I saw them live once while being absolute stoned, proper shoegaze. Their singer was really fit and guitarist reminded me of Thurston Moore:

Be great to hear your thoughts. Cheers! soundcloud.com/newrebelcult/out-of-your-hands

Seen you guys at at the Priory at least once and liked the set Didn't expect to hear from you on this forum haha A good friend of mine made me come to the gig and he's friends with at least some of your members? I remember briefly talking to the band and I think your guitarist might even know me coz I've occasionally seen him while out drinking although my memories arent exactly clear coz ive usually been fucking steamin I'm not personally from Glasgow (or even UK) but I've been living in the city since last September and it's been great to see new bands and meet people š

They're not a new band as they released their first single in 2015, but my new discovering. Another treasure from Scotland and I absolutely love them.
This song is from their new EP "Chemicals", released in March this year.

Coincidentally The Dunts have a song with almost the same title

Beabadoobee, who was heavily pushed by the NME last year, has still to release a LP and she currently has over 1.5m monthly listeners on Spotify, which is a colossal number for an indie act. To put this into perspective that's more than Noel Gallagher's High Flying Birds (1.3m) and around 3 times as many as IDLES (0.5m). Maybe it's unfair to say this but her look and the style of alt rock/indie she's playing almost makes me feel like she's some kind of clever music industry creation designed to appease the wider indie market but that's probably far from the truth. I gave her EP 'Space Cadet' a few listens a while back and it's genuinely very good. Worth keeping an eye on, as it looks many people certainly are:

Like our earlier single Angkor Wat, the track was recorded in Melbourne and produced in London by Mark Gardener (RIDE). We have a few more tracks underway with Mark with plans to release as an album.

We last released a single in 2020 with Revolution Son, and have some more material we hope to get out soon. Angkor Wat is a great tune that I still listen from time to time! I missed the release of Revolution Son, I'm gonna listen to it later tonight. Congrats and I hope to hear more from the band soon!
