Nirvana Unplugged is certainly "technically" a better gig, if that does even make a sense. But if you ask which one I prefer, then there's no question: Oasis unplugged all the way.
On a side, you have an unplugged I've veard of since I'm 6, constantly overhyped like the band and the singer. A band that never did anything for me tbh, except being the only "rock" band everyone seems to know. On the other hand, you have an unplugged with some of my absolute favourite songs on there, sung (if not perfectly) by their writer.
No competition for me.

Liam did the full rehearsal which was filmed I would love to see this but yes nirvana unplugged is amazing watch the dvd the sound is epic great mix I'd quite like to see more of that footage too, not sure how good it would be though! Liam apparently didn't change his clothes in 3 days of rehearsals :-)

Sometimes I can't even remember that there was an Oasis unplugged. It's just not very interesting.

Both are very different to me.
Nirvana was a gig trying to show their softer side, that they weren't just a band hidden behind their amps.
The Oasis one is magical because Noel had to step up at the last minute, and it was still a great gig. Ive watched it a thousand times and the strings / harmonica arrangements are magical.
I'd say it's a tie.

I'd never be able to decide between those two..... if I had to, I'd choose the Nirvana Unplugged above every single Unplugged to date! (and there are awesome ones, I mean Eric Clapton, Jay -Z, The Corrs,Mando Diao and so on....) it's just magic I think!
Oasis Unplugged, or Noel's unplugged is pretty close behind tho, been listening to it just a few days ago......

Oasis were also 'hiding behing their amps'.. from 94 to 97 anyway. and Liam would have made this thing MAGIC. apart from Listen Up, Hello and Some Might Say, we heard Noel singing those few songs on radio sessions. but yeah, Noel did a fine job.. but Liam was the best singer of the world around that time.. it's a shame he went fucking nuts... well it's a shame he was always nuts. but without him being nuts.. it wouldnt have made Oasis the band it became. hope you have a lovely week-end. party?

Except Oasis played countless acoustic tunes during their gigs prior to the unplugged. A FRICKIN LOT. I dont recall Nivrana doing the same, apart from the odd radio session. Nirvana shows were electric (in the sense that there was no place for soft sides, full of energy), whereas Noel introduced acoustics sets from the very beginning of Oasis career. And it was an important part of Oasis gigs. It came to a shock that Nirvana could play their songs with just acoustic guitars, don't rewrite history. Or maybe you weren't just born then. Therefore, Your argument is irrelevant. Shove your weekend up your ass. I'm saying this nicely, note that.

See I'm a fan of both band since fucking 1994 and you CLEARLY havent got a fucking clue who are Nirvana. and what about the end of your post? I mean, I was trying to have a discussion and even tried to end it nicely. 'There, you argument is irrelevant' what??? what is that? who the fuck are you? hahaha sorry to tell you, but you're a bit of an ignorant fuck, man 'shave your weekend up your ass' oh shit you keep on getting better, little man.. holy fuck haha and here you fucking go... I had never heard of Oasis Unplugged before discovering the band properly. Nirvana got my vote of course.

Not a fan of Oasis Unplugged. Noel did fine having to improvise a little on the night, but it's pretty bland. As has already been said, it really needed Liam singing to elevate it.

Noel should have played It's Better People and Underneath The Sky instead of Wonderwall and Whatever.

Noel should have played It's Better People and Underneath The Sky instead of Wonderwall and Whatever. Only Nirvana had the balls not to play the hits. You know MTV was probably begging them to play "Smells Like Teen Spirit" and true to his word, Kurt never gave in.

Noel should have played It's Better People and Underneath The Sky instead of Wonderwall and Whatever. Rockin' Chair would've been great too. Noel's vocal delivery of that song and the brass section the band had that night, doing the little guitar fills, would've sounded fantastic.
