Bittersweet Symphony has been the soundtrack to my life for the past 11 years.
Viva La Vida is just a decent pop song.

Easiest question in the world. Bittersweet Symphony is up there with my favourite songs ever, probably in my top 50. On the other hand, I can't stand Viva La Vida.
Bittersweet Symphony is a stone cold classic, Viva La Vida was "just" a hit (big though).

I'm not a fan but they do get too much hate. I think they're pretty harmless for the most part, they're guilty of making albums filled with completely uninspired and incredibly derivative songs... but they are far from being the worst band in the world. It's generic rock aimed at people who aren't really interested in music.

I guess the problem is that they're very unoriginal (and often very uninspired too) yet very successful. There was once a time when bands like Oasis or Nirvana were the most successful rock acts. And now we have Nickelback. They epitomize the state of rock 'n' roll in my opinion. If you ask me they deserve the hate they get for writing generic pop-rock-radio singles

I absolutely LOVE the Beatles. Been wasting my afternoon listening to this: get back sessions, them doing old tunes of their own and just jamming.

Nothing Else Matters played on the radio today. For some reason I'm quite happy about it.

I always like to make playlists and today, since some awesome stuff came up on the radio and on Shuffle, I thought I'd share it:
1. Bombs Bomb Away by Elephant Stone 2. Major Minus by Coldplay 3. Do You Feel Loved by U2 4. For Kicks by Metric 5. Sean by Foo Fighters 6. You Can't Always Get What You Want by Rolling Stones 7. Moment of Surrender by U2 8. Smooth by Santana 9. Dark Necessities by RHCP 10. Clocks by Coldplay 11. When the Levee Breaks by Led Zeppelin
No Oasis, but I did listen to You've Got the Heart of a Star since it has a Christmas-y vibe to it. However, it just didn't fit in this playlist.

That funny moment when you like the era considered the worst of a band better than the times they were "big". Not my fault if I'm not into reggae but liked their AlternRock times, thanks.

There's a national band here that exists since 1992 or so, and up to '98 their albums were a literal mix between reggae, pop rock and alternative rock. Then on 2000 they became AlternRock with pop influences as well*

A fiend of mine asked me some days ago to make a list of the 30 bands/artists I love the most, in no particular order. It looked like that :
Oasis The Beatles The Kinks The Rolling Stones The La's David Bowie Belle & Sebastian The Stone Roses The Smiths Ride The Velvet Underground The Verve The Zombies Neil Young My Bloody Valentine The Sex Pistols T.Rex Arcade Fire The Bee Gees (early) Burt Bacharach The Beach Boys Primal Scream Alvvays Pavement Bob Dylan Radiohead Pulp The Coral Elliott Smith The Divine Comedy
Certainly forgot a few, but was fun to do.
