It's 40 years since Blue Monday by New Order. It's such a great song and a classic. However, it is over played on the radio though. I can't believe that it's 40 years though.

I fell in love with the actual song through this one! I adore "24 hour party people" the movie (literally changed my life!), but in this case I'd kill to have the full version with John Simm without the movie scenes intertwined.

I'll have to give it a listen at some point.

Thieves Like Us is actually my favourite New Order song which will be 40 years old next year but I've always loved their 80s stuff.

It is great pleasure watching someone working harder than everyone else for decades while staying true to himself and to art while being progressive, modern and relevant at the same time.
From someone being hated by the whole country, from someone who "lost the war", from someone who was "making music for 12- years-olds""... to the one of the greatest musicians of all time with maybe the richest and most diverse discography of all time.
DAMON FUCKING ALBARN

Good to see THAT Cradle of Filth shirt still making Christians cry like the hypocrisy they are.

I’d say my top New Order songs are: Bizarre love triangle Temptation (‘87 as well as the 9 min 12” version) Thieves like us Ceremony Age of consent The perfect kiss Vanishing point Here to stay Primitive notion Waiting for the sirens call I think their last 3 albums were great, especially Get Ready. Such a great band. What about yours?

Yes, he has not forgotten Vienna! So, this will be the fifth time I'm gonna try to see this elusive gentleman! First, of course, to get a ticket on Friday. I do assume it won't be a problem, but, who knows how many desperate Weller Fans are lurking in Vienna and about! Volkstheater would be a lovely location! *fingers crossed that five time will be my charm*

As the man said Time Flies, it's (yesterday) the Sixtieth Anniversary of the release of The Beatles' debut record "Please Please Me" on Friday March 22, 1963.
It would have been great to see the releases all go down and experience Beatlemania in real time, but I got to see Oasis's rise. I feel that's the next best thing.
One two three fawr!

RIP Ryuichi Sakamoto.
A fantastic composer and synth/keyboard master. Forbidden Colours is one of my favourite songs.

I came here to tell you about it Best of the luck with getting your ticket! He’s opening for Blur too, on the second night at Wembley Arena in July, which is a shame as I’m going to see them the first night! Slow Thai are opening then. I don’t know anything about them but I hear they’re good.

Elvis Costello should do about 70% less warbling when he sings. And bring the fucking volume down as well. It’s too much.

I heard Manic Street Preachers’ “Motown junk” for the first time yesterday morning. Been listening to it nonstop since. It’s such a burst of fun rocknroll energy. I’m not a big fan of their first album but this song (a stand alone single I think?) is phenomenally good.

I also want to add that Manic Street Preachers, like Ride, only seem to get better or at least stay as great as they ever were as they age. These guys are making some of the best music of their careers long past their youthful heyday. For both bands, their latest two albums are as great as anything else they’ve done. Just my opinion but it gives me a lot of hope that it’s not all downhill after a certain age - we get a second wind! 😂
