Dear YouTube channel that has a grudge against so many bands it shouldn't talk about but does: Seriously shut up if you don't like them, stick to what you love. I could go on about how much I don't like 98% of Brutal death metal recorded in the last 10 years but I am not that stupid to.

The collaboration I never knew I needed, Edwyn Collins and Coldplay.
Great gesture from the band on Collins birthday.

And he lives in the village of Helmsdale in the far north of Scotland, where just like my mum, his family originates from. Before she passed away in 2020, my great auntie always saw him. I've yet to read it but my mum and dad recommended a great book written by Edwyn's partner called Falling & Laughing: The Restoration of Edwyn Collins, going through his recovery from his massive stroke. It's not bleak but very inspiring apparently. Seeing him on stage and still performing is nothing short of miraculous.

Ticket prices for a concert keeps rising, especially after Covid-19. I looked up out of curiosity how much the ticket for Coldplay in Amsterdam next year will be (not that I would go. I've seen them once 17 years ago, but have zero interest in them now). GA is over 100 Euro. They even sale VIP tickets including pre-gig dinner, private entrance, private bar and all that. F**k that. My better half said "long live music" and I couldn't agree him more.

I heard the new muse album. It sounds pretty good. But the lyrics are so shallow that it's beyond parodying themselves at this point. I would go to one of their gigs if given the chance(they are one of the best live acts you can see) , but no way I would buy the album.

I recently got tickets to see Buzzcocks and From the Jam in December and it was only £40, plus those silly ticket fees. Still I can’t complain. Two of (the remaining members of) two of my all time top bands in one night. Really excited for it.

I was going to see Buzzcocks for the first time, but a few weeks before the gig, Pete passed away. and I didn't know that Bruce Foxton and Rick Buckler are still playing as The Jam these days. Enjoy both gigs! You'll get more than you paid for the tickets.

Freedom of expression and all that, but why did John Fogerty sing “toyn” and “hoyd” instead of “turn” and “heard”? That’s not what they do in California where he grew up, or in San Francisco where the band came up, is it?

Looking forward to Kid Kapichi's new album... was late to the party with these guys till they were support act for LG. Very punchy in your face performers with a great catalogue of punky slammer tunes. These fellas and Working Mens Club really hit the spot for me at the mo.

I've been absolutely loving this EP Texas Moon, a collaboration between Khruangbin and Leon Bridges. The first EP, Texas Sun, is a really pleasant listen but this one moodier and fits both styles of Khruangbin and Bridges better I think. It's music that's perfectly visual and scenic much like the album cover and title suggests, one of those great soundtracks to a film that hasn't been made.
It's fantastic and I hope they do more collaborations in the future. This is definitely my favourite track of the year so far. The restraint and distance in Bridges voice with the reverbed guitars makes it a very lonely track.

Awhile back I posted about Michael Kiwanuka's follow up album being disappointing. But have returned to it and WOW. I get it now. I wish I had given it more attention sooner.

Still think Love & Hate is his best (and probably would make my all time list) but went back to Kiwanuka recently and I too thought it was so much better than I remembered Also managed to see him live this summer and he was absolutely fantastic, so much energy and soul

Should've been the rock album first then the acoustic one. Know Your Enemy is a really underrated album IMO. It’s heavy and bloated like BHN but there’s great tunes on there. It was also the perfect follow up to This is My Truth Tell Me Yours. I’ve not listened yet to the expanded rerelease but it’s on my list. I still feel their last two studio albums, along with Everything Must Go, are my favourites. Which may not be a popular opinion but it is mine.
