Is it just me or does the bridge for U16 Girls sounds exactly like the one for TIOBI? (The "man's got a limit" bit)

i love this album. i use definitely maybe and morning glory as measuring sticks for greatness and i would put this album right up there with either of them. not a weak track on it. my ratings track by track: 1- texture 10/10 2- i want to touch you 9/10 3- black metallic 10/10 4- indigo is blue 10/10 5- she's my friend 8/10 6- shallow 8/10 7- ferment 10/10 8- flower to hide 9/10 9- tumble down 8/10 10- bill and ben 9/10 11- salt 8/10 12- balloon 7/10 rob dickinson's soft, cool vocals splashed on top of the brash wall of guitars works brilliantly. i hope to own a vinyl copy of this some day but they are rare. according to this article a reunion almost happened back in 2008, but a couple of the members supposedly wanted no part of it: blastecho.com/catherine-wheel-nearly-reunited-could-down-the-line/i'm hoping for a 25th anniversary re-release of ferment next year with a tour, or maybe a 30th anniversary release and tour in 2022. Still probably the finest band to xome out of Great Yarmouth, and easily beating Lowestoft rivals The Darkness (I suppose not hard) for quality

I saw Alabama Shakes last night and they blew my mind!!! What a monster band. Brittany Howard is AMAZING, such a vocal range and such a presence on stage. She signs with so much soul that you can feel it in your bones.

Check out Taste in Men (Alpinestars Kamikaze Remix), Leni and Bubblegun if you haven't already, they're great. I'm using your custom Radiohead logo as my WhatsApp profile picture btw. I've heard the first two and just checked out Bubblegun - what a brilliant song! Nothing more frustrating than a briliiant b-side though (just one of the reasons why Oasis were the most frustrating band of all fucking time). Do you think it should have replaced Haemoglobin? Yeah, Bubblegun's fantastic! I think it fits well as a b-side, one that's rewarding when discovered. And yeah, if Oasis rearranged some album tracks with b-sides, their albums would have been much better (including BE). Here's some more of my favourite Placebo b-sides, just in case you haven't heard them: Teenage Angst (Piano Version)....better than the album version IMO The Innocence Of Sleep Black-Eyed (Le Vibrator Remix) Ion

I've said this many times... but are we sure that this guy is the same Andy Bell who wrote The Nature of Reality and The Beat Goes On?
Because both the song and the performance are fuckin' amazing!

Ride have a few amazing songs. Infinitely better than most of the stuff he put out with Oasis/Beady Eye/Hurricane #1 or whatever it was called. Watched some of their performances at festivals on tv last year and they sounded absolutely amazing. Vapour Trail is my absolute favourite. I absolutely use the word "absolute" and variations on it way too much.

You know how everyone says Arcade Fire are fucking brilliant? They're right. The Suburbs is still my favourite album of theirs. Amazing.

Amazing live version. This song makes me think that Keep The Dream Alive should have sounded like this.

I dig The Beach Boys. Yup, I admit it.
They wuzz lily white They wuzz goofy as shit
and
Their singer was an embarrassment to himself, his band and all 8 of his wives.
Nevertheless, I like 'em.

Nowhere has got to be one of the greatest albums of the 90's and possibly all time. You've got classics like Seagull, In a Different Place, Polar Bear, Dreams Burn Down, Vapour Trail, Taste, I feel like I'm reading the tracklist! Going Blank Again ain't bad either, although I will admit that I was initially put off by the cleaner sound and still can't get into Twisterella and Making Judy Smile.

Don't know where to put this. I saw this photo and my first reaction was: Wow, a picture of Gem and Paul! Better read the description to know the story behind it I didn't realise that it makes no sense because of the age difference, but good lord, I didn't doubt for a second that it wasn't Gem and I do have seen pictures of Lennon before I had to laugh about myself a bit then^^ Before, I always thought Gem looked similar to McCartney

Recently gave a listen to Archie Marry Me and that song is definitely brillant, one of the best I've heard in the last few years. If the rest of the album is anything like that it's got to be great.

You know how everyone says Arcade Fire are fucking brilliant? They're right. The Suburbs is still my favourite album of theirs. Amazing. Funeral holds it comfortably for me. It's the mix of rustic indie and melancholic grandeur that always seems amazing in theory but only really works in practice on Funeral.

It's the best song on the album hands down. But still, there are some very good tunes on there: Atop a Cake, Next of Kin, Adult Diversion, and so on.
