It was a tragedy what happened in the Bataclan, but theres a fine line between paying tribute, and then just milking something. Having the band that were playing that night up for Internation group seems abit crass to me tbh

#2 a band that happened to was the victim in an terrorist attack nominated for the international band just because of that
#3 Years & Years, Jessy Glynne and James Bay nominated for Best group/Best Female/Best Male as well as Breakthrough Act. You should decide, it doesn't make any sense

#6 Just like for Aphex Twin and Father John Misty they put someone who is not so popular but critically acclaimed to make sure the award is only 99% a joke, and not 100%.

Not sure why people are so upset, it's hardly like the Brits are ever anything different. The worst thing about those nominations is Eagles of Death Metal and Amy Winehouse being on there. I think there's at least one decent act in each category too. Hopefully Jamie XX, Foals, Florence, Wolf Alice (even if I was disappointed with their album) and Laura Marling win some of the awards they're up for.

Florence + the Machine for British Album and Blur for British Artist are good nominations, but other than that, I totally agree. Adele and Coldplay have no place on there as being nominated for a 2015 award when neither album was available for a significant period of time in 2015. Hell, the lead singles off of 25 and AHFOD didn't even come out until November! Get them out of there, and get The Magic Whip and Chasing Yesterday in there. They were actually out for a significant period of time in 2015, and are both good albums that are deserving of an award like a Brit Award. It makes perfect sense now, as to why Liam threw that BRITS Album of the Last 30 Years Award in 2010 when he accepted it. Even though he did it for the fans, I don't think he'd really need that award considering everyone already knows it's legendary, and no blow-hards at the BRITS need to validate that. |
