Best Liam song, not by a huge margin but it's had a comfortable lead for over ten years now for me. Isn't too Lennon pastiche, or too simple. It actually sounds like Liam, and its a fully formed tune! How rare is that?

I couldn't get past the title. Awful. Listened to half of it once. Just went to YouTube and listened to the studio version to be sure it's as crummy as I remembered before shooting my mouth off here. Guess what? It's pretty good. With a better title phrase it would've been borderline great. 'Guess God Thinks I'm Able' for instance wouldn't have thrown me. Funny how individual tastes are, eh? Just rearrange the last 2 letters of the final word in the title and I'd have been good with it. It's the little things.

Good song, one of Liam's finest for sure. Very enjoyable.
I think it would hardly fit in my personal Oasis top 50 though...

Pretty sure it was originally edited to fit a 90 minute slot with 15 minutes of adverts on TV (it originally aired on Channel 4 in the UK). They probably could have re-edited it for the bonus DVD on LDSMD but I'd guess it would've cost more money than they were willing to spend and the production team all thought "well, this'll do" I've always liked Abel, there was a funny Noel interview where he always assumed the tune was ABLE, and then upon realising it referred to the warring biblical brothers and that the opening line implied 'brother on brother sex' he said "if that's not illegal its definitely frowned on"...

I don't mind it, it's one of those songs I don't particularly like nor dislike. It's not one I would skip if it'd come on, but I never think "Oh I really want to listen to GGTIA now".

I don't know why too. guigsysEstring You rang? I wasn't aware of the missing songs to be fair, although setlist seems to confirm it- Setlist.fm It could be down to to simply the band (i.e. Noel most likely) not being happy with the performance. Another more business based reason that leads to omissions that is not exclusive to Oasis is licensing for broadcast, which this gig was. In some instances the broadcaster is given rights to one or two songs for future use, which includes being omitted from any live band release, which could well be the case here with Champagne Supernova and Guess God Thinks I'm Abel. I don't know 100% for certain but my instinct for this one says they took the broadcast money and agreed to omit two song performances for the broadcaster's exclusive use, which as is fairly common in these circumstances have since not seen the light of day.

Not sure if it had anything to do with the song getting cut or not but Liam got the lyrics wrong at the City of Manchester gig. He sang one of the 'I could be yours' in the wrong order. I noticed it on the night so wasn't shocked that it was one of the songs edited out.

One of my go-to tracks when I'm playing guitar. It's fun to throw on the capo on fret four and strum out that simple, but effective pattern with those driving chords. It's a good tune, and one of the best tunes Liam has penned. I wish that the electric bit at the end would've been left out of the song, but even as it is, it's definitely a top tune. Quite under-appreciated/underrated too. Plus, the title's got a cool pun in it.

Has one of the worst lines in any Oasis song about chasing a rainbow. But besides that it's probably my favorite penned Liam song on any Oasis record.

I clicked Yes.
It's not bad, it's not good, the explosion at the end would have been cool if developed or used for a different song. But never mind. Now let's go find a rainbow.
Nice succinct poll, though. Yes.
