Him feverishly writing away whilst the crystallised skull of the star-man from the Blackstar video sits before him on the desk... My god...

I was numb when I heard... such a tragic loss. I'm still delving into his music, but this really hurt me.

Absolutely devastated waking up to this news. Bowie was a musical hero of mine and millions others. He has left enough music to go on for generation after generation. Had to stop myself from welling up driving this morning and now it work it's the same story. Some of his songs have have this effect on me for over a decade and now they are going to have so much more impact now he is sadly gone.
Sky News are doing great today with their coverage as too the radio stations.
Just hearing his haunting voice is enough to bring any fan to their knees.
RIP Bowie, you were truly one of the greatest ever

I'll admit, I was never that into Bowie, though my dad was a huge fan. He owned practically every record Bowie released. He's gonna be gutted when he hears this, if he hasn't already. Because dear David was truly a musical genius. You only need to know a handful of his songs to know that.

Lisa Moorish was with him, but didn't dare to go inside. She just posted that story on Instagram a couple of hours ago too.

What an extraordinary human being and artist in every sense of the word we lost...I watched Lazarus and you can't tell me he didn't know it...But I guess, that was exactly the way he wanted to go and maybe we should be glad for him that he could say goodbye the way he wanted to. Still..what a loss and way to early , there will never be another one like Bowie.

Although it's nearly impossible to pick a favourite Bowie song what is yours? We could do a poll but might be too many choices. I'll go with this...

Message from Groninger Museum in The Netherlands where the exhibion "David Bowie is" currently has been held:
EXHIBITION David Bowie is 11 DECEMBER 2015 TO 13 MARCH 2016
David Bowie has died. We can’t believe it. Over the two years of working on the exhibition David Bowie is, we’ve come to feel as if he were a personal friend. We are greatly saddened, and our sympathy goes out to David Bowie’s family, friends and fans.
You may sign a condolences book in the lobby of the Groninger Museum.
I was planning to visit the exhibion soon anyway, but didn't purchase a ticket yet. After 3 hours in a queue online, finally purchased my tickets. We're heading to the North in the end of this month to show our respect to this legend.

My girlfriend told me this morning and I couldn't believe it. Still can't believe it now.
Look out my window and what do I see A crack in the sky and a hand reaching down to me All the nightmares came today And it looks as though they're here to stay

I will forever be grateful for the influence he's had on the bands that have influenced me even though I never really got into his stuff myself.

Bowie from his early career up to Diamond Dogs is untouchable. His debut from 1967 is often overshadowed but i love it.
Never really enjoyed his music after that, especially in the 80s, but when i saw that music video the other day i thought to myself it was too obvious to be JUST a video. Kinda made me feel uncomfortable to say the least...
RIP you legend. Now that this generation is almost all gone, time for Noel, Jarv and Damon to tell the world what to do.

It's only sinking in now what a gift Blackstar is. I can't believe he made this for us. Because that's what it is, it's a gift for us. What other artists care that much, who else would do this for their fans? He didn't owe us a thing. He'd already given us more than we could ever have hoped for with The Next Day. People have mentioned the struggle it must have been for him to write this record. I hope it made him feel free. I think it did.
What a beautiful, beautiful man

He knew he was dying and did one more album, purely for his fans. He could have spent this time focusing only on his health, but in the end it was about the music. That's the mark of a true artist. A legend.

What a beautiful, beautiful man I'm sure he was more than happy with the fact that he witnessed the release of the album and let alone was able to finish it. To me, it has a bit of a magical feeling to it...something transcendental even (I don't usually believe in these things) that this is his gift for his fans and his last goodbye. It's so beautiful and sad at the same time.

After 3 hours in a queue online, finally purchased my tickets. We're heading to the North in the end of this month to show our respect to this legend. If you get a chance please go. I went to the opening in Chicago in 2014, and it was just breathtaking to see what an absolute ARTIST this guy was. From music, to fashion, to film, to stage/set design, to literature, the dude was one of a kind and that's literally the highest praise an Artist can get. Always elusive and creative. No disrespect to all the people we've lost over the years, but I haven't had a death hit me like this since Lou passed in 2013. Where ever they are now I hope they are jamming and keeping the universe on its toes. I'm upset about this and definitely still surprised, but what a way to go out. Seems like he went out on his terms and he was kind enough to leave us a couple more treasures. Much love and respect to David and his family and friends. One of a kind, whose work and spirit will live on forever.
