Both magnificent, but Wonderwall edges it for me.

Definitely Cast No Shadow
Wonderwall is also great but I think it's pretty over-rated (and I don't mean overplayed, I mean overrated)

I still have a problem with "as they took his soul..." being repeated ad infinitum, so Wonderwall for me.

Even if Wonderwall is overrated - it is generally rated as an absolute classic, not just an Oasis classic but a timeless piece of music loved by generations all around the world...even if it's not that, it's still better than Cast No Shadow. (Which is still pretty great.)

Wonderwall obviously.
This isn't even close.

I still have a problem with "as they took his soul..." being repeated ad infinitum, so Wonderwall for me. At least Wonderwall has different levels to it, to keep you interested. So many good things about it. CNS is just too bloody repetitive.

Love Cast No Shadow, but as others have said, to repetitive. Because of this it feels to long to me when I'm listening to it. Great vocals and instrumentals tho, and love when they played it live...

The Ryan Adams version ruined the whole listening experience when I am listening to Wonderwall. So I vote for Cast No Shadow

Wonderwall should finish with at least 70% of the vote.
To me this is like comparing Live Forever with Up in The Sky.

Indeed. CNS seems like a slog to me. It's got great potential obviously, and a lot going for it vocally but after like a minute or so, it's like what now? At least other 1 verse Oasis songs like RNRS and MG have more diversity to it.

Cast No Shadow has a gorgeous melody and instrumentation. It has great lyrics, but is very repetitive, which takes away a lot of the song, which is a shame. It was one of my favourite songs, but after a while it becomes a bit boring.
Wonderwall has a gorgeous melody and instrumentation as well. Has good ambiguous lyrics and is repetitive, but less than CSN, and it bothers me less too. It might be one of the most overplayed songs, but that doesn't change it's quality. And there's a reason why it's been covered so much.

Got to be Wonderwall, yes its overplayed around the world but it's still a beautiful song.
Some of the lyrics are brilliant and so relatable to everyone. Love peoples reactions to this in pubs/clubs.

Cast No Shadow is dedicated to Ashcroft. Nuff said.
Honestly Cast No Shadow remains in my top ten because its one of Noel's best lyrical work, right up there with Listen Up, DYKWIM, the Masterplan - just beams with poignancy.
"As he face the sun he cast no shadow..."
Wonderwall is a terrific ballad but it doesn't hit me as much as Cast No Shadow.

The Ryan Adams version ruined the whole listening experience when I am listening to Wonderwall. So I vote for Cast No Shadow For real? Maybe you mean the Mike Flowers Pops version Anyway, I still can't get your point. This thread was about which one is the better song, I can't understand why a certain live version should ruin the experience of the original track.

Wonderwall, and honestly it's not even close.
I LOVE Cast No Shadow. But the songwriting quality of Wonderwall is simply better. The arrangements are better, the lyrics are better, it's one of Liam's best vocals. It's Liam's perfect vocal in conjunction with Noel's perfect melody. It is so expertly crafted, from the progression to the ending piano coda, it is the perfectly performed and written pop song. Back in the day, Noel could have busted out another Cast No Shadow, no sweat. But he only wrote one Wonderwall. Contained, yet sprawling. Intimate, yet reserved. Forward, yet layered. Rich in complexity, yet simple.
As said above, comparing Wonderwall to Cast No Shadow is like comparing Live Forever to Up in the Sky. One is songwriting expert class, the other is a great album track, but nothing more. Wonderwall is transcendent.
