Noel Gallagher should have voted to Remain in Oasis. It’s Oas-is, not Oas-was.

Yesterday 14 years ago I went to my first Oasis gig.
It was during the DBTT tour. I had to travel because It was in another city (Madrid), and although I had friends there I went alone because they didn't like that kind of music back then and it was quite expensive (although a ticket it's much more expensive now). I remember I wrote in one hand "Stand tall" and "Stand proud" in the other one because I used to love Part of the Queue (still do!). Liam's voice wasn't the best, but when you're there and your favourite band are a few meters away from you it's something easy to forgive. Liam could've burped the wonderwall lyrics and I would've still enjoyed it. I loved every second of the gig, I even phoned a friend during Songbird (remember when we used to do that? What a stupid thing to do). The setlist was a perfect mix of DBTT songs and greatest hits, and before I knew it they were playing the opening riff of My Generation, and then it was over.
While people where heading to the exit I went to the stage to see if I could grab a setlist, but they were already gone when I arrived. I spoke to another fan about it and he gave me a tiny piece of the setlist he got (just a little piece of paper with black sticky tape on it, if I remember correctly there's a T from Turn up the sun).
On my way out I bought a pin at the merch table because it was the only thing I could afford and then I met my friends at the exit. We had a blast that night and I was constantly checking around the whole night just in case I would come accross Liam or Noel. There's something magical about knowing that you're in the same city as someone you admire so much.
Of course it didn't happen, but still it was a great day that I'll always remember fondly.

My Oasis thoughts of the day? Too many threads and posts about Liam & Noel's hair, figures, vocals and personal hygiene in general.
P.S. Does anyone know which wax Noel uses? I've finally got my hairdresser to cut my hair with a razor instead of scissors and it's looking awesome, but it's missing the last bit of magic.

I fixed Hey Now. You're welcome This post gets a like from me not because of the blasphemous butchering of a classic song, but because of your fantastic YouTube avatar. #leftsolidarity

“We only get what we will settle for.”
Such a poignant and understated lyric.

Oasis top 10 most popular songs on Spotify:
1. Wonderwall 798 789 958 2. Don't Look Back In Anger 294 393 409 3. Champagne Supernova 153 759 783 4. Live Forever 96 105 255 5. Stand By Me 91 245 067 6. Stop Crying Your Heart Out 88 001 117 7. Supersonic 55 203 673 8. Half The World Away 52 300 896 9. She's Electric 45 266 351 10. Don't Go Away 44 536 782
Surprised to see HTWA and She's Electric there. I think the christmas ad a few years ago helped Half The World Away to have so many plays . It's cool to see this gem (one of Noel's finest tunes ever) getting played so much.

Don't go away is fucking amazing! Sadly it's some of the most blatant plagiarism in the Oasis catalog.

I honestly believe that with a shorter chorus, Noel singing the backing like he did in the acoustic version, and a more tasteful arrangement, Stand By Me would be right up there with Don't Look Back in Anger and Wonderwall.

Maybe, bit still it does pretty good. Surprised to not see Whatever in the top 10, I thought it was big in Japan and more generally in Asia. It has "only" 36 millions of plays. One thing that would be cool is to have plays stats per country.

“Believe the Lies” - A leftover collection from the DBTT era where Noel claims there’s like 30 or 50 or summat left over. Well release it then mate.

A lot of that most likely turned into Noel’s first two albums and Beady Eye as well. Believe you me. If there was anything good there they all would have mined it by now.
