Liam miming the Noel parts of Live Forever in the US video is simply a scandal. I thought that was Liam on the record?! The 'You and I are gonna Live Forever' Never to be repeated again obviously

All this time I thought it was Noel.
Slightly devastated tbh. 😥

It still blows my mind how something as good as Come On Outside didn't make it onto DOYS. Liam vocals or not, it pisses all over nearly 3/4 of what Oasis released in the 00s. It’s not a popular opinion but I’m not that crazy about the song. It’s not bad at all but and it does have an effortless melody to it, but something about it feels so generic - like Noel just wrote it in 5 minutes and recorded the demo. Not to say that songs that come out of kowhere aren’t good songs but it just seems to not feel special at all to me. It’s got all the right bones there but no heart. I guess what I’m trying to say is Just Let It come Down Over Me is a perfect little tune I wish got some love in the setlist.

People constantly ask me, “Beady, do you believe in Heaven? To which I affirm, that I very much do. “Cor! Why? Tell us about your near death experience!”, people tend to assume. However, to such disappointment I have to mention then that, solemnly, I’ve never been to Heaven. “But”, I continue with much vigor, “I’ve heard Heaven....for I have heard the instrumental ending of Oasis’ Whatever. And that is the very sound of Heaven and proof of such therein.”
Yes, the ending of Oasis’ Whatever is the fundamental reason why I believe in Heaven. Thanks.
From 3.35 to the end. Divine.

I guess what I’m trying to say is Just Let It come Down Over Me is a perfect little tune I wish got some love in the setlist. I agree that at its core the song is not something super-special, but what makes the tune work for me is purely the performance of the recording that we have - it just sounds so relentless that it's hard to not be swept away by it. The song itself is maybe a little too simple (and tbh I'm a much bigger fan of the riff than I am of the verse or chorus melody), but the playing of the band feels a lot more tight than most 00s Oasis songs. Certainly a lot tighter than all of HC or DBTT. Bc of that, I'm pretty glad Noel left it off his debut album, it would've been a terrible mess a la Record Machine.

Absolutely chilling performance. Noel’s two verses are some haunting poetry, personified by Liam’s grave and solemn snarl. Immense.
This is exactly how you feel the morning after a weekly cocaine bender. We’ve all been there mate

Liam is on top form here. I’m gonna sound like a melt here, but I often wonder how I would’ve turned out without this song in my life. It really is my fight song. Check out 00:39 😊😊 Now he’s done Lyla, this is the next one I’m campaigning for him to add to the set list!

And he fucking nails that line in that performance as well. I think we all wonder how we would be without certain songs or albums, i think about that as well from time to time. Half The World Away, for example, helped me through some hard times. I actually think he would be better off performing THT rather than Lyla. For some reason, even with the key lowered, it's just not the same. It's more of a holding note thing on certain parts, because tone wise it was actually a very honest attempt. I hope he gives that one a go, along with Gas Panic, and possibly Stand By Moi.

Whilst I’d love to hear Liam do Gas Panic! no way can his current band do that song justice. I don’t like to bad mouth them as much as some in here but that song is a monster live and haven’t heard anything from them that makes me think they could do it

But can't help but wishing it because it's one of my Oasis all-time favorites.

This is a great version but my favourite has always been the one they played on the N&C tour. It was halfway between the demo and the final version so had more of an edge to it. The recorded version is still a great Oasis song but production-wise it's cowardly.

Absolut Radio has a documentary called 'Britpop - You've Got To Roll With It' coming, looks like Noel gave an interview for it.
