I've come to really appreciate Soldier On. That hypnotic groove, combined with ethereal echoes and haunting melodica, makes it perhaps the creepiest Oasis song, before the faint feedback in the outro suddenly rises and swallows the song. Absolutely brilliant. It would have been a good DOYS era b-side, but as the final track on what became the final oasis album? No thanks.

Oasis thought: Is it acceptable for a straight guy to say Noel Gallagher looks so freaking cute during the Maine Road gigs ?! Because, Dear Goodness ! He does, haha.

Absolutely brilliant. I concur. It is a great little number. I love the impending sense of doom that it builds and the hazy harmonica to fade out. I hoped Beady Eye would do this one live, but sadly didn't happen.

I love the live version of Acquiesce on the Time Flies dvd. That video defines Oasis. I can't 'like' this enough. If someone were to ask me what Oasis were all about anyway, this is the 4min video I would show them.

I really like the tracklisting flow of Disc 2 of Time Flies more than disc 1.
Some Might Say Importance of Being Idle D'You Know What I Mean? Lyla Let There Be Love Go Let It Out Who Feels Love? Little by Little She Is Love Shock of the Lightning Whatever I'm Outta Time Falling Down

DYKWIM is tonic for the soul.
Every Oasis fan should listen to that everyday.
It's a message that promotes life.

Noel's peak in terms of cuteness was Live By The Sea Out of interest where does he currently sit in terms of cuteness? You may use the cute-o-meter app if you like EDIT- Hardly necessary but I should point out this was obviously not my score when I took it- There was a decimal point before the numbers on mine and the text was somewhat stronger with the descriptive language

I'm never been on drugs, I don't need alcohol, I don't smoke and my most favourite Oasis album isn't Be Here Now, but if all those make me an "unqualified" Oasis fan, I'm fine with that. I know what I love and I know what I want.

I remembered Paul "Big 'Un" Ashbee's claims against Oasis but forgot he actually got a payout of £100,000 from Tony McCarroll- The People- 16th April 2000 Considering his own settlement was £600,000 less court costs that cut him off from any future royalties it makes me wonder a) how much was Big 'Un planning on getting from the remaining members, given he got one sixth of Tony's own settlement and b) I wonder if Tony did manage to invest or salt away any of that money given he no longer had an income from any OAsis activity, or if became another casualty, financially as well as musically, of the music industry. Posted before but this is an interview from The Observer published 7th March 1999 with Tony just after the court case (no mention of Paul Ashbee in this one)- Observer 7th March 1999

If Oasis had gone for a shortened BHN in terms of tracks rather than song length, I think BHN could have worked well as:
DYKWIM My Big Mouth Magic Pie Fade In/Out -- Don't Go Away All Around the World It's Getting better Man! All Around the World (reprise)
yes, you do miss some great fan favourites but this BHN does still contain the madness of the original and is more "listener friendly". Not that I'm against the original at all, just thinking.

It would've worked better as the second-to-last track on DOYS, with BWTB following it.

It would've worked better as the second-to-last track on DOYS, with BWTB following it. You sure about that? BWTB has always been the perfect penultimate song to me. And Soldier On is the apocalyptic end, so why have anything after that?
