It's funny how almost every "rock" band of the 00's was either a ripoff of Oasis, Radiohead, or both. And none of them ever captured that rock 'n' roll swagger that defined Oasis. In fact, can you think of any bands that came after Oasis with a similar attitude?

I warned you I was a curmudgeonly old bastard It's jealousy of youth lol I saw your shoutbox thing about The Libertines and thought "I remember seeing them the first time around in 01/02 and was still past my teens!" ahh the memories hahaha ye they are brilliant live. u saw the really early cos in 01 and early 02 up the bracket hadn't even been released. id love to follow a band from demo tapes to stardom. Long story short I was working in that business and someone who knew of them via I think Johnny Borrell of Razorlight tipped us off- IIRC he briefly played bass for them before forming Razorlight. They were a great band that shone briefly, although unfortunately Pete's well documented issues primarily killed them off and probably gave the need for the numerous cash ins they have done since then. That said at least they give the younger generation an idea of their live experience, which is something I didn't get with The Jam or The Clash

After Oasis has ended, Blur, Suede and Pulp reformed.
The throne is still empty...

I wonder if the only swear word in NG's house is "Little James."

I also love that Slide Away is on Whatever but I also find it quite strange; it's almost as if it was originally meant to be a double a-side but for some reason people forgot to do the correct promo and it just got left as b-side. Can't actually think why a song which had been released 4 months before would just be a b-side. Slide away being on whatever was just an advert for definitely maybe I always thought? For anyone who didn't already own definitely maybe hearing Slide Away must have been a good kick up the arse to actually go out and pick up the album. I'm pretty sure I read that it was. That said, I would have preferred a live version of Slide Away.

Here's a reason for everyone to like Magic Pie: For every post we make on here, we're a passerby - we've been and now we've gone.

Be Here Now is Oasis's most musical album.
This is an Oasis that isn't scared to take risks and it shines through in every song on that album. It's full of fun, energy and life - something in my eyes missing from every album post BHN.
A rock n' roll party from start to finish in the truest sense.

Who Put The Weight Of The World On My Shoulders? Is to me easily Noels most emotional and best vocal ever. A total hidden gem. Yes, I know, Noel's seen cheering on Newscastle - but it was just a film.

Don't know if Putin clapping is positive or negative. Guess that entirely depends on your location and political persuasion.

It's acrually quite good. It's just too rushed. Like I've said in another thread, they should have takem 1997 off and come back in the Summer of 1998 or early 1999 with a brand new vibe.
