TGTS might be my favorite Oasis song ever. The lyrics are fantastic and Liam's vocals are top (definitely his greatest performance since BHN). I'm not sure why noone ever mentions it though What's TGTS?  Yeah, I just spent about 15min looking back and forth on the band's catalogue to find out which song was that  . It's probably Turn Up The Sun, though. |

I love NEU! but for whatever reason I never made that connection! Listening to Hallogallo right now and it seems very apparent....how'd I miss that? Dunno. I read about it somewhere or seen it in some documentary. It was included on some kinda Kraut Rock compilation iirc. I'm sure people on here will know a ton more than me about it but... yeah.  Think it's 'alleged' was maybe mucky fingers from DIV sessions? Either way it's awesome!! |

Frustrating as fuck as they are, I love Oasis' silly quirks. It wouldn't be Oasis without the imperfections - the tracklisting debacles, the concrete setlists, the canceled tours, the squabbles and fights and cricket bats. It just wouldn't be Oasis without all of that. Stuff of proper legends, and proper legends Oasis are.

They seem like they could all be really good in a live setting, even if some of them do have some shit lyrics (PYMWYMI and TNOR), rely on atmospheres (LAMB, PMDTW, BIU, TT, BWTB, RIO, Flashbax), or have complex arrangements (RIO, PYMWYMI). I think it's a real travesty that those first five on the list above, PYMWYMI, RIO, FO, ET, KTDA, PMDTW, BIU, TT, TNOR, and IBIA didn't get performed. I think all of those songs would've been great additions to the setlist, especially in the later years when they did songs from overused eras, like with Step Out during the SOTSOG tour. Full On would've been better in its place imo, and would've been a nice addition to the setlist, even if the SOTSOG songs were falling away really quickly. (Side note: I get a real big Smiths vibe from I Believe in All. Sounds a bit like This Charming Man to me.) |
