It would be nice if we could vote neither. Either way, who ever wins is going to have a hell of a time convincing Congress to go along with them to get anything done. Here comes 4 years of wasted time.

Washington Post: Unlike Petraeus and others, Clinton’s case lacked malicious intent or other nefarious elements So she is simply incompetent? or Stupid? Whatever you want to call it, right?

This is going to be such an embarrassing series of debates. Could've had Sanders vs. Paul and we're getting this.
I mean, I guess the sting is lessened a little by a bunch of Brits having to google "what is the eu" after voting to leave it and devastating their economy, so this time you guys should think before printing a magazine that says "How can xxxxxxxx Americans be so dumb" but this is still bad. We're all going to be having that dream where you show up to school in your underwear, but it's going to be real.
This is so bad.

Regarding the Clinton's emails, the FBI's statement doesn't come as a huge surprise. Though it was an extremely idiotic thing for her to do, there was nothing in her actions that were criminal. The entire situation has been blown out of proportion.
Clinton should count herself lucky, however. In any other election year such a controversy, as manufactured as it may have been, could have been devastating to her reputation. She's incredibly fortunate to have an opponent that generates controversy with every other word he says.

The incumbent's approval numbers and the economy are two strong predictors of a general election.
Obama has been in the tank directly after his re-election, and have remained below 50% since.
However, in recent weeks his approval numbers have gone up, occasionally hitting 50% in some polls, and importantly being above the disapprove numbers - as of today, RCP Avg is 49.7% approve, and 46.5% disapprove.
In the polls during his entire 8 year tenure, he has never been a significantly popular president. But that aside, his numbers ticked up in 2012 prior to his re-election (for no real reason), and it is apparently happening again.
Obama has done literally nothing to warrant his better approval numbers both in 2012 and currently here in 2016. This is a real trend to follow.
If he can reach 50%+ and sustain it going into the election, I (as a Republican) would/will be very nervous indeed.
Watch this space.

The economy has improved and it may just be that the effects have finally trickled down to the voters. Also, he's coming toward the end of his term and it's not unusual for the approval rating of the outgoing president to tick-up when people begin to remember him/her with nostalgia (because in the end, Obama's tenure in office has been above average. Maybe not all-time great, but certainly above-average. A lot easier to remember him with nostalgia). Lastly, Obama's saving grace has always been that he's not the other "guy." In this case, he isn't the Republicans on the hill, he's not Hillary, and he's not Trump. He's the grown-up in the room, and his approval rating is receiving that due. I would suspect that his approval rating will remain above 50% and may even gain, as long as all those factors stay the same.

He was a fairly weak debater, especially considering his weaknesses on foreign policy, gay rights, trade, gun control, and any issue not about "restoring" the middle class. There's a reason he's not the nominee.

"Hillary Clinton would face 'severe discipline' if she was FBI employee," director tells Congress. I tend to lean on the side of 'much ado about nothing', but it still boggles the mind. To your point... what "reputation" could have been devastated by this? Everyone is already aware of her incompetence. Just because her opponent happens to be a bigger ass than her, doesn't mean that she isn't one all the same.

The State Department tells the Associated Press it is reopening an internal investigation into whether Democratic presidential candidate Hillary Clinton and her aides mishandled classified information. The Justice Department declined Wednesday to indict Clinton over her use of a private email account and so-called ‘homebrew’ server following an FBI investigation. Complete coverage on Fox News Channel and FoxNews.com.

You know one thing that pisses me off as a person who is unaffiliated with any party.
Is when people from EITHER side try to use the 'fear vote' for their candidate of choice. Democrats will tell me that voting third party, or simply not voting is essentially a vote for Trump. And Republicans will do the exact same thing. It isn't, and its this type of action and attitude that is really fucking up our democratic republic. In fact a part of me wants to and is willing to say that you're pro-establishment, if you campaign on this or if you use those tactics.
You can bring out all the pseudo academic/political philosophy about how a vote for Nader was a vote for Bush or whatever. Democracy isn't all that hard, vote who you want, but its your choice if you compromise you vote. NOTE: No political candidate will ever match up 100% with your beliefs, so there is an inherent compromise when you do vote, but it's your personal choice to figure out how much you're willing to compromise. The sad truth is, is that this ugly, circus of an election mirrors and represents us as a country in many ways, and I'm a person who thinks that despite all the craziness in the this messed up world that on average; I'd say we are killing each other and doing more good than ever as a species.
I know realistically this election boils down to Trump and Clinton, but can you think of two people who represent the two worst sides of our country? the establishment politics of Hilary and the selfish, cheap shady capitalism of Trump. Don't know what I'm doing with my vote yet with regards to the Presidency, but I'll be out and definitely voting on my local level stuff.

A message to Melania Trump:
If you must write prose and poems The words you use should be your own Don't plagiarise or take "on loans" There's always someone, somewhere With a big nose, who knows

Melania's plagiarism isn't the worst thing to come out of the convention so far, nor will it have been when it's over. But our media is failing us by focusing on it. I'd call that disappointing but it's exactly what I expect from them.

Anyone watching Colbert this week? He's been brilliant, pretty much ripping the convention apart.
