what would be your tracklist of the day? here's mine
1. Do The Damage 2. In The Heat Of The Moment 3. You Know You Can't Go Back 4. Ballad Of The Mighty I 5. The Dying Of The Light 6. The Right Stuff 7. While The Song Remains The Same 8. Lock All The Doors 9. The Girl With X-Ray Eyes 10. Riverman

You're right, The Mexican isn't that good on the CD, but it's a very good live song. I wish Do the Damage and Come on Outside on it.

The Mexican is something Beady Eye would have come up with. This is not a compliment. Atrocious song.

The Mexican may be my favorite song on CY. And no I'm not trolling. It's just so amazingly goofy and catchy, and it's fucking awesome. Love the Digsy's Dinner tracks Noel writes.

I do too, but with The Mexican he made a meal and I threw it up on Sunday. Bleh.

Frankly, anyone who doesn't like The Mexican is clearly a massive racist.

I'd have it as:
1. Do the Damage 2. Riverman 3. In the Heat of the Moment 4. The Girl With X-Ray Eyes 5. Lock All the Doors 6. The Dying of the Light 7. The Right Stuff 8. While the Song Remains the Same 9. The Mexican 10. You Know We Can't Go Back 11. Ballad of the Mighty I
Everything about the official release was absolutely perfect, besides the painful omission of Do the Damage as the opener. Other than that, everything flows so incredibly well, and I wouldn't change a thing about that.

Do the Damage would've been the perfect opener of any other Noel album, but the fact that Riverman was the opener marked the first time that a heavy rocker hadn't opened an Oasis-related album. Which in itself is a statement of intent, from the every start, it seems that CY wasn't going to be the same old Noel songs. And it wasn't, it was different in several ways!! Having Do the Damage as the opener changes all of that, and, despite how strong Do the Damage is, makes CY a slightly weaker album.

The Mexican is still my least favourite albumtrack, but live it's great. It's so much fun.

My playlist of the day includes various songs from other artists but nothing from Chasing Yesterday. :x I liked the album but after the first weeks it just wasn't that interesting anymore.

The Mexican is terrible but I wouldn't say I hate it. It's better than Listen Up at least.

The Mexican is still my least favourite albumtrack, but live it's great. It's so much fun. The riff, the horns, and the freaky vocal effects on the "Wah wah" lyrics. Even the album version with its "You need love like a kid crack" lyrics is so much fun, and you can tell by the way of Noel's vocal delivery.

Agree completely - though that said, I'm so happy he's included it live in opening the set. Brilliant move. So many bsides deserve more respect live. Some people will always want more hit tunes but if you're at a gig, a good couple "unknown" (to you) songs can really get you into a band. When done live enough, the songs get stronger and take on a life of their own. I loved how in 94-96 (and less extent 97-98) they pulled out so many bsides live.

Wasn't it great on the MG tour when Oasis always opened with The Swamp Song and Acquiesce? I mean, what other artists play not one, but TWO b-sides at the beginning of their gigs? Great move Noel! I'm just waiting for him to add Revolution Song and Freaky Teeth back into the sets.

I really love how Noel included those three in the sets, especially the first two, as they are exactly the sort of track that you'd expect to be forgotten by an artist, being that they are obscure bonus tracks.

For sure. That's why it was a shame that Beady Eye ignored The World's Not Set in Stone, Back After the Break, and Off at the Next Exit, outside of a few acoustic performances. All three of those would've made BE the really good album it was shaping up to be, and was at heart.

I think it's the second best song on the album, behind The Right Stuff. Which suggests my taste is at odds with Noel's and the rest of the fanbase.

Riverman Do The Damage The Girl With X-Ray Eyes Lock All The Doors Revolution Song Leave My Guitar Alone The Right Stuff The Mexican While The Song Remains The Same You Know We Can't Go Back
Good tunes but definitely not the best record Noel's ever made. Strong for a 48 yo songwriter though. Production stil is a huge letdown
