It seems to me that a lot of people think this tune is boring
now, Noel's vocals are spot on (as always), the guitar solo is ace, and it's catchy with solid lyrics
this song is bad, how?
One of the highlights off of SOTSOG

It's one of my favorite tunes off of the awesome SotSoG. The chorus is incredible, very Noel-esque. The best tune he sung on since DLBIA and the only tune to beat it since was TIOBI, maybe Little By Little depends on how I feel. ;D

Good song, alright it might not be their best but I get fed up of how Oasis were built up just to be slagged down by the media. Despite not being their best, that album was head and shoulders the best album released that year!

Sorry its dire, a great tune yes, but dire, miserable, depressing, defeatist. But it is honest and I suppose that's the way he was feeling at the time. I think SOTSOG has some good songs on it but it is a miserable depressing album

I think SOTSOG has some good songs on it but it is a miserable depressing album I think that's what makes it somewhat unique. Usually Oasis are always looking to a better future like Live Forever, but SotSoG did have a lot of sorrowful moments. I think that's what really makes the album stand out, for better or worse.

But that same outlook also produced Let's All Make Believe, one of Noel's best songs EVER. FACT.

Sunday Morning Call is not only one of my favorites off of SOTSOG, but it's one of my favorite Oasis song, period. I love it. I think it's a very relaxing song which, like a lot of songs Noel sings, has a very 'epic' feel to it. I'm not sure why, but the background music and sound effects always make me feel like I'm underwater......like in an octopus's garden or something.

I wish there was a real choir background and not that weird synth choir... Maybe add some strings. I'd like to hear D. Sardy produce/mix it. Not a big fan of Stent's production on the album...

Not a big fan of Stent's production on the album... Yeah, it's really noticeable when doing a compilation of Oasis songs. Everything sounds fine and clear until you get to a track off of SOTSOG. The songs sound all muffled.

The acoustic version of Sunday Morning Call from MTV is one of the best things I've ever heard.
As for the album version, it's certainly a good tune, but not something equal to some of the great Noel album tunes.

I agree with lions. Pretty boring song, I'll never understand why it was released as a single and why Let's All Make Believe was left off the album.

The acoustic version of Sunday Morning Call from MTV is one of the best things I've ever heard. yup. i heard a couple of acoustic versions of this song alongwith Who Feels Love, before SOTSOG was released and i was so looking forward to the album. thought it would be brilliant. But the album versions werent as good.... shame however i still love Sunday Morning Call. Find it bizarre how people have such polarized opinions of it. especially regarding the chorus and ending - absolute class. and a great great tune to play yourself on an acoustic

Never got into SOTSOG. To me it was a portentous album. New York towers on its cover and songs like Gas Panic (those lyrics are scary) Definetly not a happy album. I find it hard to listen to.
What tongueless ghost of sin crept through my curtains? Sailing on a sea of sweat on a stormy night I think he don't got a name but I can't be certain And in me he starts to confide
That my family don't seem so familiar And my enemies all know my name And if you hear me tap on your window Better get on yer knees and pray panic is on the way
My pulse pumps out a beat to the ghost dancer My eyes are dead and my throat's like a black hole And if there's a god would he give another chancer An hour to sing for his soul
Cos my family don't seem so familiar And my enemies all know my name And when you hear me tap on yer window Yer better get on yer knees and pray panic is on the way
Cos my family don't seem so familiar And my enemies all know my name And when you hear me tap on yer window Then you get on your knees and you better pray Cos my family don't seem so familiar And my enemies all know my name And when you hear me tap on your window Yer better get on yer knees and pray Panic is on the way Panic is on the way
Released in 2000. An unfortunate coincedance but look what happened a year later

No.
What's scary is that in like May 2001 on The Story of Oasis thing, Noel said that if he was a terrorist he would bomb like the Brit Awards (i think it was the brits). If he said something like that after September of that year, all hell would have broken loose. not a smart thing to say in the first place.

Well most normal people would probably just have took it as it was - a glib dig at The Brits or whatever awards it was. Only paranoid, brain-washed space cadets like yourself would have reacted in anything like the manner you are describing there. Oh yeah Sunday Morning Call, I kinda like it, but it kinda drags on a bit. SOTSOG isnt very good on the whole is it? you people who think its the best Oasis album are clearly insane. Maybe even more insane than the "I orgasm while listening to BHN" brigade
