NK when he sees the rankings in a few hours Wimbledon doesn't have ranking points this year, if that's what you mean? He's dropped 5 places according to the media.

This is fun, I am actually happy now that Boredal isn't playing against Robotković.
Much stupider tennis, but it was fast, I'll give you that!

Novak dropped 5 places because this Wimbledon doesn't count toward ranking pts, so he loses what he was defending. Kyrgios really shouldn't have any impact negatively, because he isn't defending any points.

Federer finished. Gutted. He may not now be the most successful but he'll always be the greatest to me.

Federer finished. Gutted. He may not now be the most successful but he'll always be the greatest to me. Taken the words right out of my mouth. Agree with every word. I am gutted too. I know he's 41, but he's also Federer. Unbeatable in my opinion as the greatest player to have ever graced a tennis court. Most successful does not equate to the greatest for me. It's when sportsman reach the pinnacle of their sport combined with natural flair, grace and elegance that it turns into pure art and really fires the imagination and sense of wonder (see also Ronnie O' Sullivan or Ayrton Senna). Success on its own doesn't do that. He wasn't the quickest player or the most powerful but its his reading of the game and natural flair that does it for me and he transcended tennis in a way none of the others did. I think to attract people who are neutral on the sport adds to the greatest of all time debate. It's an interesting debate for sure, based on opinion many will say Nadal or Djokovic for justifiable reasons but that shows us how great an era it has been for tennis. With Alcaraz coming through and Federer retiring, it seems like we're really at the end of that era now.

I don’t follow tennis much, but from time to time I go back and watch the Federer-Nadal final in Wimbledon 2008. An impossibly great match of two absolute giants at their peak

Fucking hell, 20 years 😱 Incredible, you have the three greatest players of all time with Andy Murray who, while not at their level, is objectively a great player in himself. I'm biased but if he weren't playing while the other three were at their peak, he'd have won so many more grand slams. It's justified to see him there, other greats on his level may have won more but it says a lot about him to simply compete on their level. But his greatness also says a hell of a lot about the godlike genius he was up against. Epic, I don't think any other sport will ever see such consistent quality on such a level ever again.

Laver Cup has been insane. What a finale for Roger. We have been so lucky to witness such greatness between the 3 of them. No doubt they have driven each other to such great heights. Gladiators.

Andy Murray, man he never fails to entertain, always a gift when you see him deliver these things at this stage of his career. Plays with all his heart and gives us that when we don't expect him to.
