God I hope he doesn’t win it after this fix up. I wont watch any matches with the djocker on AO. What a shitshow. People wont play there because they didnt get the right vax but this dangerous mofo will because he is exempted on god knows what basis. The WTA has more balls than the ATP.

He's pissed off Liam Jones who had a good reason not to get vaxxed playing AFL but wasn't rich. Insta has said person saying this: 🧐

It doesn't matter if you agree with Novak, this is fascism.

It doesn't matter if you agree with Novak, this is fascism. It quite literally is not fascism. That's not what the word means. Incredibly poorly handled and should never have become an international incident but every country -- the US, the UK, France, Serbia, Australia, etcetera -- detains people in their airports every single day for having improper paperwork, sometimes for days or weeks (or in immigration cases sometimes it is years). They're just not usually sports stars so no one cares about them.

It doesn't matter if you agree with Novak, this is fascism. Somebody tries to enter the country without the required mandate that everyone is aware of, with self inflicted complications because of his anti-vax batshit ideas. But yeah, fascism. Riiiiight......

Somebody tries to enter the country without the required mandate that everyone is aware of, with self inflicted complications because of his anti-vax batshit ideas. But yeah, fascism. Riiiiight...... Read better and more about situation and then come back and write. Novak wasn't tested in Serbia, Australian doctors gave him permission, Australian government gave him visa and everything. He played by their rules. THE FACTS: - Djokovic's exemption application was anonymous - The exemption was approved by 2 independent panels - The Australian Open had no say in the exemption - Djokovic is not the only player to have received an exemption - Djokovic followed all the rules Well played by Australian government, can't deny. If you can't think like normal person about this and put your opinion about Novak or what he thinks about covid aside, then you are no better than anti-vax idiots. He followed all their rules, they said to him that he can come and they were just making example of him and doing everything for their popularity, it has nothing to with corona virus or Novak. Those bustards don't care about anything and will do everything to win next elections. Yes, it is fascism, they took his phone ffs. Why? You understand that he is not the only one unvaxxed who came to play Australian Open? There are 26 of them. Two persons have same paperwork, one can enter, other can't? What is that called? And please, I don't wanna go into discussion, this is sport thread, if you can't breath first and count to ten and then reply, it's ok. If you can't, there are 463828282 places on internet where mostly idiots are talking about virus and everything 24/7 so join them. But I believe you are better than them.

I have no idea who those people are, I don't follow politics, I don't follow corona virus madness. I do what I can for people around me and myself. I don't know what happened to people on both sides, vaxxers and anti-vaxxers. If you think that one situation is not right, then you must be on one side. It's not black and white. I really feel sorry for everyone that are so blind in their hatred that they can't see how wrong it is what they done to Novak.

He brought an appeal and the hearing has been postponed until Monday. It appears he will stay in Australia (not sure if in detention or not) until Monday when the final decision will be made.

Two persons have same paperwork, one can enter, other can't? What is that called? Quite simply it's called bad management (apparently on the part of Tennis Australia who were warned about this happening) ... but fascism refers to a government that includes certain features including ultra-nationalism, suppression of the political opposition and strong collusion between industry and government. It doesn't apply here so it doesn't help your argument. Djokovic is being afforded all of his rights under Australian law and can present his case next week.

All he had to do was to take a vaccine that nearly every professional athlete on earth (as well as millions of far frailer people) has taken without any ill effects at all and he'd be there right now playing in the ATP Cup and on his way to winning #21. Easy peasy.

Ok,maybe it is strong wrong word but is more like an expression in Serbian language when someone is acting like this. But they are not far from it.
Anyway, the point is that Novak's visa is CANCELLED. Not denied but cancelled. Yesterday he brought all the pappers that Australian government already knew about and they said, ok, that's enough, you can come and play. They wasn't checking his papers on border they already knew everything about it. And it was all by Australian laws and he followed all the rules.
And people should stop calling them amateurs.
This is well played political game.
They told him to come and they sent him home and now is this like some big victory for them in eyes of of public.

If those are the rules and laws of Australia and he follows them, your personal opinion about him doesn't really matter. He chose the way that is not easy peasy but he followed all the rules.

My personal opinion of him doesn't matter in any case. All that matters are the laws of Australia. The final arbiter of who is let in the country is the Border Patrol not a tennis tournament. Those were always the rules and they didn't change yesterday. That they seemingly weren't properly communicated to Novak by Craig Tiley and Tennis Australia is a shame, but he'll have to take that up with them when this is settled, regardless of the outcome of his appeal.

They told him to come and they sent him home and now is this like some big victory for them in eyes of of public. You might want to double-check your sources because he is still very much in Australia. That is even worse. All I want ti say is: 1) No, we are not all the same (Little James). Not because he is famous but because he has for sure best lawyers and direct contact with AO organisation and government etc. There is no way that he didn't already checked if he has everything that he needs at least 5 times. He is privileged in that way and that is normal and there is nothing wrong about it, you and I can make mistakes in our applications, it's hard to believe that is what happened to him. 2. Australian government is obviously bunch of lying bustards and a) they told him he can come and when they saw that media and most of the people doesn't like that, they played him like a fool. b) this was their plan from the beginning. They lied that he can come just so they can do this and make this "big victory". All I want to say is, they don't care about rules and laws, they do what they want and they are looking what media and public are saying not the law. Sean Illing So fascism isn’t a discrete category — it’s a spectrum? Or a sliding scale? Jason Stanley Right. And my book identifies the various techniques that fascists tend to adopt, and shows how someone can be more fascist or less fascist in their politics. The key thing is that fascist politics is about identifying enemies, appealing to the in-group (usually the majority group), and smashing truth and replacing it with power.

Easy peasy. Exactly. It's a game the idiotic politicians are playing to keep him out but I have no sympathy for him at all - he's put himself in this stupid situation by not being vaxxed and his lawyers will probably ensure he worms his way back in anyway. He's already made his millions by providing entertainment for the unthinking masses of brain dead sports fans. What does it matter if he loses yet another couple of million? Tennis Australia will probably pay him millions anyway even if he can't play - and that fee is no doubt being subsidised by Australian tax payers. In Australia the Government allocates millions for private sporting bodies while the Children's Hospitals still have to organise public fundraising drives every year just to keep in operation.
