I thought this was a thread about the official videos, so what would live videos be doing here? Acquiesce live at G-MEX is official released in 1998

Whatever is a great video, too. (As is Noel's subsequent comments on the matter )

Supersonic is their best video no question. It established their image as a band. Almost no other debut song and video so clearly establishes the vibe and aesthetic of a band.

If the vibe they were going for was that of a band who makes crap videos, then sure. The videos from DM are all pretty bad, excepting Live Forever's US cut.

I honestly think that Supersonic is one of the best videos of all time. Oasis has bad videos but these 3, especially Supersonic's, do probably the best job of telling who the band is. Supersonic has this great semi-psychedelic imagery combined with a very british location. Additionally it's shot on wonderful grainy film which is both an homage to the past, and an Signifier of the bands working class roots in my opinion. If you were going to find a world in which Definitely Maybe exists it would be the world of the supersonic video. On top of that a lot of the later videos only focus on Noel and Liam, but in Supersonic the rest of the band is shown and other than Liam, they all look like regular blokes except during the little guitar solo breaks where they make Noel, who looks incredibly dopey and normal throughout the whole video, into a guitar legend. Yes the video doesn't have much going on in it, yes the band probably hated making it, but it is Oasis and that's why it's a great video.

I love it.
It's simple and it's just them messing about, like young blokes.

Wait...why are there no votes for Don't go away? I didn't include it on my list above because I simply forgot ( Damn my education!). It's very phycadelic and emotional, the look on Liam's face as he looks out the window makes me emotional, I swear. And the umbrella people, and the chairs, it's utterly bizzare and yet moving.
Thoughts?

Love the imagery of photo frame, chairs, umbrellas, windows etc. It's just the band apart from Liam all look a bit like awkward Dad's standing around in their short sleeve shirts at a garden BBQ :-)

In the U.S video of Live Forever, the part where Liam is sat at the desk in an office swinging the lamp shade is ripped off from the film Performance that Mick Jagger was in. I'd imagine that was the directors idea.

Another great thread made by me I want a video of Beady’s Here Now singing The Nature Of Reality. Maybe with Flatulence Panic and UGHF as background dancers, but that's not neccessary.

Honestly, most of the music videos are pretty bad. I know the Gallaghers don't really care about them, but from a creative profession and standpoint they are so uncreative and generic. It's not that difficult to make something interesting...
