Screw American Music Fans. You dont know shit. First of all, i live in Canada. You know North America. Im a half a hour away from the states. They play oasis all the time on the radio, and on tv. Over the years, Oasis has never gone away here. The buzz is still here in Canada. I think Americans are jealous of the British music. Just think about, throughout the history of music, Americans have the beach boys, Elvis, Van Halen, Metallica, Pink, Jay Z. The British have the Beatles, stones, who, oasis, radiohead, Pink Floyd, and trust me, many more. Id be jealous too. And, I will even say, Canadians are better musicans and have better bands then you Americans. You seem to be buying alot of canadian albums since the titanic movie. If you have a problem with that, figure out what you national anthem means. Did we burn down your white house? Two words man: Fuck off You think Britain is filled with glorious music all of the time? Hell, they gave us fuckin' Basement Jax and Canada? What the hell have they contributed? I can't even name one Canadian If your going to judge everyone's musical tastes based on the bands that are popular then fuck off. I don't listen to that shit. What I'm trying to say is that EVERYWHERE has shit music, you can't help it. However, that doesn't mean everyone has to listen to it.

But Oasis ain't too British for America. Like Noel said, Cigs and Alcohol means the same to some kid in NY as it does in Britain. I didn't say Oasis are too British for America, they are certainly not, but The Jam were. Like you said, Cigarettes and Alcohol doesn't mean just to British kids, but to all young kids in any other places in this world. Sorry bout that, guess I didn't get the reference.

alright NoelvsLiam i got some good news for ya...im from Boston(yeah say what you want, but i love that dirty water) and out of the three rock/altern radio stations all of them play OASIS....see in the northeast they are HUGE.....when they played at the tweeter in June '05 more than 200 people from my high school (ages 15-18) went to that show and said they can't wait to see them again....its been two years since then and im in college now and i run into people all the time and when i ask them if they like Oasis? they refer back to that concert and rave about them....so just cause some people around your area don't know much of them doesn't mean in others everyone knows who they are....keep your head up

They arnt big mainstream, but as a 17 year old, let me tell you that there are A TON of Oasis fans my age. Its almost like a cult following... think of how Dave Matthews and OAR are and thats how Oasis is. Just because theyre not on MTV and the radio a lot doesn't mean people aren't fans.

seems as though most of you guys have a pretty good grip on why their fame is at its current status. oasis is a fantastic band, obviously, but liam saying things like "im not playing for fucking yanks," being a dick on TRL, and spitting at the VMA's isn't appealing to americans and when we have straight laced guys like dave matthews that is easy to understand, touring and singing gay songs that everyone can relate to, it just works better. in some cases i dont think america can handle oasis. they were too controversial and hard to read in their 90's heyday, and america chose to ignore them as opposed to try to understand them. but am i mad that theyre not on u2 status? no. like someone said earlier, i love them because i can get a 3rd row seat in cincy and clev and have liam give me his fucking tambourine. theres also no oasis posers and everyone here knows that the oasis fan base is truly a family. madferit

Are you kidding me, hey let's just stop and think for a minute, if it wasn't for American music you wouldn't have a think called rock n' roll. Hell without the Gospel music that came out of slavery there would be no blues, jazz, rock, or rap and yes that means no Oasis too

I have to say... when I first became a huge Oasis fan around 1997, I wondered why they werent bigger here. But as time passes, I realize that they are pretty big over here. I mean think of all the bands that have come and gone since Oasis' arrival. Are they as big as they should be? Definitely not. But at the same time, bands like u2, green day, red hot chili peppers, tend to be overplayed and become boring to me. Oasis are in a good standing here. I agree with someone who said they are like Queen in regard to popularity...right on the money. They might also be like The Clash. A few radio hits but more respected as a band. That's fine by me.

Makes me laugh that you are saying this because one of your fellow Canadians fronts an American band! And no I'm not kidding either
