after giving chasing yesterday quite a few spins, 1- 'the girl with the x-ray eyes' should have been a b-side and replaced with 'revolution song' (the production on the finished version is fantastic), and 2- 'the mexican' should have been binned altogether  my opinion only. anyone agree? |

Revolution Song should've been on it, but not for X-Ray Eyes. The album has to be 11 tracks

Maybe Do the Damage could go on, but the album doesn't need it - the only change I would make is change The Mexican to the live version.

X-Ray Eyes is my least favorite track from the album and I like every bonus track more than that one. I agree that Revolution Song could fit in there, yes. Regarding The Mexican, it's definitely not the best track that Noel has ever written but I don't mind it. Ok, lyrics are shite, but it works REALLY well live. We had people jumping all over the place in Milan  |

1- No! Although I don't adore The Girl With X-Ray Eyes, I hate the production on Revolution Song. Revolution song is a B-Side as it should be.
2- Entirely agree. That song is a throw away that should have been thrown away.

I still can't get why he released Revolution Song now as I much prefer "Solve My Mystery".

Replace You Know We Can't Go Back with Do The Damage and you're on to something. That song is awful, sounds like a contemporary U2 album filler, just not good.

I honestly wouldn't change the track listing. Do The Damage is a great song but doesn't really fit in place of either of the songs you mention. I prefer The Girl With The X-Ray Eyes to Revolution Song as well.
As others have said, The Mexican really comes alive in a love setting, as does In The Heat Of The Moment.

Revolution Song is best left in the past and TGWTXRE is much better. The Mexican rocks live and the brass is immense.

the mexican is amazing but yea likes its been said above, get rid of the WHAHAHWHAs and put the guitar part from the live version in there.
same with ITHOTM, use the brass for the NANANANANAs like the live version.

XRE is one of my least favourites on the album (just the MExican and ITHOTM) but I still love the song and really hope it gets some appreciation in the live set.
