Does that website actually have any credibility? It seems highly inaccurate.

I miss the cool surprises that came with HFB - Alone on the Rope, A Simple Game of Genius, Let The Lord Shine a Light on Me - those were really great songs that weren't on the album. This time, aside from Do The Damage (which is just a nice song) there was no real surprise that was worth.
Hopefully Here's A Candle will be good.

That website is as accurate as the NME How so? Either write the artist's full name or just the name they're known by, not 2 out of their 3 names. A lot of songtitles missing, songs on Noels page that were written by Liam, Oasis songs missing on Liams page, songs on Liams page that were written by Gem or Andy, etc.

I'm surprised Hold Back The Night isn't listed

I wouldn't get your hopes up too high for Here's a Candle, I'm informed it's a bit of a throwaway, fun song.

Either write the artist's full name or just the name they're known by, not 2 out of their 3 names. A lot of songtitles missing, songs on Noels page that were written by Liam, Oasis songs missing on Liams page, songs on Liams page that were written by Gem or Andy, etc. I think you'll find it's more accurate than you may first think. This isn't a website which documents individuals songwriting careers, it's a website which lists songwriters royalties associated with BMI and no one else. Think of it as a legal website, not wikipedia. I would hazard a guess that they are just showing the information they are provided with. So inconsistent naming schemes, misspelled titles and the use of working titles instead of the ones we know, probably isn't disorganised laziness on their part... it's the information they are given. There are many possible reasons songs are missing, the most obvious being they are simply not associated with BMI and are registered with a different company. Liam's, Gem's and Andy's pages all share a lot of overlap due to all three members being listed as songwriters for all Beady Eye compositions. Now we know this isn't true, band members often individually wrote songs, however this practice would have taken place so that all 3 would receive equal royalties. Something they very much lacked in Oasis. The reason 'Better Man' features on Noel's page is likely just a cock up on someones part, which they've never bothered to fix. It probably happened due to it's 'twinning' with 'The Cage', which is a Noel written track. Who knows?

There's also 'It's Never Too Late (To Be What You Might Have Been)'. This and the candle song are making me want that BHN box more and more...even though I don't expect to get unreleased songs. Hang on, is It's Never Too Late an actual song? I just remember it as an image in the booklet of the deluxe HFB debut album.

Hang on, is It's Never Too Late an actual song? I just remember it as an image in the booklet of the deluxe HFB debut album. It's also the title of the behind the scenes video included in the DVD of the deluxe edition. Furthermore its 'alternate title' is 'unidentified background music' (see link below), whatever that could mean. This might just be a snippet of unreleased music from the 2011 documentary (e.g. the short Do the Damage and The Dying of the Light clips) that Noel's management/lawyers preventively got registered without having a final name for the respective piece of music. In any case, we can be sure that it was at least considered for an official release. Judging by its BMI#, which are chronologically assigned, it lands somewhere in the middle between the tracks from the debut and CY. It could be, this is of course just speculative, original background music that was supposed to be used in the unreleased tourfilm 'How to get to the Other Side of the World' which covered the South America tour 2012. Since we know that the movie was finished and later scrapped sometime in mid/late 2012, the BMI# would fit into the timelime. The phrase is also featured quite prominently on the cover artwork of the official and promotional 'The Death Of You And Me' singles. repertoire.bmi.com/title.asp?blnWriter=True&blnPublisher=True&blnArtist=True&keyID=16043272&ShowNbr=0&ShowSeqNbr=0&querytype=WorkID

I was thinking of making a sexual innuendo. But I thought otherwise. You are welcome, eva.

So I took a brief glance at this BMI repertoire site, but can't make much sense of it (pretty much just news comes up with a search of Noel's name). Anyone care to please give me a quick overview of what the deal is with it?

even if 'candle for my birthday cake' is a throwaway i bet i'll like it better than 'birthday' by the beatles. one of the most overplayed songs of all-time.

A good friend of mine was born on the same day as me, only 3 years before me. I always send him Birthday and the lyrics "They say it's your birthday, well it's my birthday too yeah". Very fitting and the only time I can sing it without having to cringe.
Of course every year there is some smart ass who sends that song to me. They think it's hilarious and original since I'm such a Beatles fan.

Props for going into the BMI writers catalog. Smart thinking going to the publisher to find some new info.
BMI, SESAC, and ASCAP are the only three major music publishers.
