I love him firstly as a musician, but somehow, I can't not love the person behind the music, when the music means so much to me. It's crazy how Noel has given me so many happy moments and I suppose many others as well, without even knowing me.

Uh, I don't think you can be an OASIS fan if you don't like Noel, because Oasis was Noel and Liam. Noel is an integral part of Oasis, and Oasis wouldn't exist without his songs and guitar playing. And Noel solo is way better than the last 4 Oasis albums, where many of his own compositions were awful. Let's face it: Noel is not perfect (true perfection has to be imperfect), and I can think of many other, better, songwriters, but Noel deserves credit for all of the extremely catchy tunes he has written over the years. If anyone knew how to create a hook and a melody, it was Noel.

next, do you actually like andy bell? Bell was a great songwriter in Ride. His guitar also shines on songs like Seagull and Vapour Trail. But I don't care for his Hurricane #1 or most of his Oasis/BDI songs. They were just too derivative of Noel or some 60's band. Also Bell was never meant to be a bassist, hence why he had to learn bass upon joining Oasis. I'm glad that Ride has reformed, because that is where Bell truly belongs. Not in Oasis. |
