Apart from Quantum, the other two Daniel Craig films are superb. Quantum was a disaster. They took out all the quintessential Bond phrases and props. And the plot was diabolical too. I really do want to watch Skyfall on Netflix one of these days. Craig is a good Bond. But I still prefer Brosnan - probably because I grew up with him as the face of Bond. And Golden Eye is still one the best 007 films. Although Casino Royale was top, too.

CGI, constant action,no subtlety. I like Brosnan but he wasn't given much to work with sadly in my opinion.

Pierce Brosnan was definitely one of the better looking Bonds. I originally wasn't a fan of he casting of Daniel Craig to be James Bond. I thought at the time Clive Owen was a slam dunk choice. I hated Craig's bratty character from Road to Perdition. The first film I saw him in. Since then Craig has really elevated his stock in my eyes. He's got that cool guy Steve McQueen vibe going on at the moment. Very cool. Frank Bullitt anyone?

Incidentally, that was the same week Don't Look Back In Anger went to number one.

I think he's been very unlucky not to have done one. I'm sure it's one of the things he'd have loved to do. I do wonder whether he held back Freaky Teeth for so many years in the hope of getting it, I reckon it would have been perfect. The only chance Noel had at writing the Bond theme was when Oasis was in peak form between 1996 and 1998. Back when the world worshipped them. No one would have bet on Chris Cornell doing the Bond theme solo, years after his band's commercial & critical peak...

I really liked the film, never played the video game, despite the rave reviews it got. Before Skyfall, I thought Goldeneye has the best special effects (in addition to a decent story I thought) - it wasn't CGI and it was all real world physics special effects - the guy who did them all had done them for other great films like Superman and Batman (the Tim Burton one) basically on the reputation he gathered from the special effects from the TV series Thunderbirds. Once he died, the Bond films relied on merely CGI, which led to complacency and it all got too much. If anything has damaged cinema, it's CGI and the overemphasis of it over a good old fashioned story. Reigning it all back in recent years has been a godsend for the Bond films. Just think - no CGI, no Michael Bay. That would be a wonderful world!

Right in my wheel house of gaming. My friends and I played it religiously after school at each other's houses. Remember kiddos, no online gaming yet on video game consoles. I suppose anyone under 25 or 27 years old currently would have been really too young for it and bigger and better gaming systems were coming down the pipe by 1999/2000. Still an amazing game and a definite game changer in the industry.

I've read a lot about Goldeneye, that game definitely set the trend for smash hit games like Medal of Honor and Call of Duty.

I am too young to remember it when it initially came out but I did pick up the reissue for the Wii a few years ago and enjoyed it hugely. I've played the original on emulators as well. My favourite bond game was Nightfire on the Gamecube.

I would DESTROY Beady’s Here Now in a good old fashioned Goldeneye match. Even if we put on "slaps only" mode. He would not be a worthy adversary.

You could spend hours playing it with friends (and even girlfriends enjoyed playing it). One of the few games that made the N64.
