Don't know if I'm allowed to do this but here is the three second clip from Champagne Supernova where Liam sings summer, then the shout happens. LISTEN CAREFULLY: www.sendspace.com/file/4kbflqStill sounds like a slightly delayed echo of Summer (sounds like 'ummah')...

I already heard it a long time ago, but I think it's just a echo

Say what you say, but I'm agreeing with Beady's Mighty Eye that it could be Liam screaming as Noel whacked him with the cricket bat.

This sounds like an off-mic shout of "Come on!" to me.

This sounds like an off-mic shout of "Come on!" to me. A hidden Richard Ashcroft cameo? I mean, The Verve had already written and performed their song 'Come On' at this point in time, two years before it was released on Urban Hymns including the Liam guest appearance. It was also the same producer and the same studio they had recorded 'A Northern Soul' in, a year earlier. Most certainly nonsense. But as Ashcroft has eloquently put it: 'This is a big F**** YOU - COME ON!' (this is of course not directed at you or anyone else ;-) )

It also reminded me of the repeated chant of "Come on" in Columbia at first listen, but then of course there's the Verve connection as you say. I think things like this help towards giving the recording a sense of live immediacy, a bit like the "whoo" before the guitar solo at the end of Some Might Say, the cough at the end of Roll With It etc.

This sounds like an off-mic shout of "Come on!" to me. That's exactly what i thought he was saying the whole time. I usually shout it out loud when i'm singing along.

There's also this quite recognisable 'Come On' by Liam right before the first proper guitar solo in 'Stay Young'... Honestly, I had noticed that 'Come On' bit in CS before and to me it definitely sounds like Liam. It was probably just the icing on the cake, put on top by Owen Morris during the mixing stage. Has anyone crosschecked the Brendan Lynch Mix yet?

Yeh, it's "come on" innit?
I always thought it was Liam, he used to say come on in an aggressive way a lot in the mid-90s. At the 96 Brits "First of all I heard Michael 'ere is gonna slap my round the face so COME ON!"

I'm listening to the song right now to see if I'm familiar with the shout before or not. mrpostman's reputation hangs in the balance!
